Headscratchers / Conan the Barbarian (2011)

• Since the Mask of Acheron is so dangerous, why didn't anyone from the barbarian tribes try to completely destroy it, such as by grinding it to powder rather than scattering the pieces and hiding them? The fact that it could be broken into pieces meant it wasn't indestructible and it was too dangerous to have whole, so why not destroy it?
  • Maybe they were afraid if they broke it down even further, it would release the dark powers contained within the mask.
  • Just because it could be broken down doesn't mean it wasn't indestructible; it was made from the bones of kings, it's quite possible it could be reduced down to the separate bits belonging to each king but not any further.

• Why didn't Conans dad just, move back or to the side? If the chains were loose enough that he could pull it down on himself, there would have been the option to move.
  • Because the chains weren't that loose, every movement was tossing droplets of molten steel on him. The chains were tight enough that he moved at all, he'd get spattered. Moving enough in any direction would have dropped enough on him before he got clear to either cripple him for life or kill him.
