Headscratchers / Dude, Where's My Car?

Go To

Yes, even in a movie this dumb we're allowed to have head scratchers. Heck, overthinking a dumb comedy can be fun in itself.

  • So do those two bikini chicks appear in the movie at all or is it just a case of Sir Not Appearing In This Film? Because I don't recall seeing them in there once.

  • Why are Tommy and his goons the only ones to not try and run from the alien giantess?

  • Why does the Super Hot Giant Alien eat Tommy alive? She just kind of seems to do it out of nowhere. She just sees him, gives him a dirty look, and devours him. Why?

  • Chester finds the Rubik's Cube that transforms into the Continuum Transfunctioner when he solves it in the pocket of one of the suits he and Jesse had ordered the night before. How did it get there? Also, if he didn't find it and start trying to solve it, would the universe get destroyed without anyone knowing why?
    • In terms of how he acquired it, most likely they just took it from the Alien Nordic Dudes by accident during the night without realising what it was and nobody realised the implications of it until after the aliens had wiped Jesse and Chester's memories.

  • Why does an Asian woman who can only say "And theeen" work at a drive-through?
    • Perhaps they couldn't afford anyone else that spoke English.
    • She may have lied that she could speak full English, but only knew one or two words.
    • It's not uncommon for people working in Chinese restaurants to have limited use of English, since they'd often be in a kitchen role and it wouldn't be required (this is why Chinese menus have numbers), but this movie naturally takes this to an extreme.

  • Why does Jesse and Chester's boss think he has to prove that they've been stealing the pizzas instead of delivering in order to fire them? Can't he just fire them solely on the grounds that the pizza orders they're assigned to aren't getting delivered to the customers?
    • He's likely just as dumb as they are, considering he falls for the "Look, it's a thing!" bit twice and both times the "things" were fictional animals and also didn't notice Chester looking up at the ceiling while yelling at him, but he's better at hiding it.
    • People will get a delivery and then complain that they didn't, in order to get a refund. So Mr. Pizzacoli is waiting for solid evidence.

  • When Pierre takes Jesse and Chester outside to give them their car back, they find it's been stolen. So, somebody went onto Pierre's property and saw two cars; a dirty dusty 1963 Lincoln Continental 4-door convertible (the old car Jesse and Chester took shelter from the ostriches in) and an ugly rusty POS Renault hatchback. What car thief would opt to steal a crappy foreign beater instead of the huge luxury convertible sedan? Yes, the Lincoln wasn't exactly show room condition either (thanks to an ostrich putting a hole in the convertible top) but it is still a far more valuable and sought-after car.
