When Liu Qi and Han Duoduo land in prison, an apparent prison official shines a bright light in their faces and interrogates them in a menacing manner. Then, the real prison official knocks on the interrogator's cell, and it turns out to be Tim, a cowardly, harmless-looking guy.
Han Zi'ang tries to get Liu Qi and Han Duoduo out of prison by bribing the warden with a dirty erotic VR set. He immediately lands in the same cell with them for lending out his pass.
Later, when an earthquake strikes the area, the prison warden rushes in to unlock the cell... while using the same VR set.
When He Lianke makes his way to the cable room to manually hack the Sulawesi Earth Engine, he insists on pushing Li Yiyi aside to walk in front of him just to screw with him, much to the annoyance of the latter.
Li Yiyi: There's enough space behind!
He Lianke: More fun crossing in front of you.
Li Yiyi offers a prayer before starting the Earth Engine to ignite Jupiter...specifically, a prayer to Grandfather Newton, Uncle Einstein, and Brother Hawking, before adding Buddha to that list.
Tim when he curses in English. Especially funny when he bravely jumps off a bridge in the Sulawesi Earth Engine to pull Liu Qi out of a tight spot.
Tim: FUCK THIS SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!
Involves a bit of Narm Charm, but the way that Tim shouts that "the transport is falling down!" is so ridiculous it's funny, especially in the original Chinese audio.
At the end of the film, when Li Yiyi asks Liu Qi if Han Duoduo is coming along, Liu Qi, being the Jerkass he is, simply replies with "screw you!" Even better: in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment, Li Yiyi subtly adjusts his glasses with his middle finger.
