• Okay, it's mostly horrifying, but the fact that Yang Guang used the exact same lines on every girl, including the romantic flower, because he apparently couldn't be assed to think of anything more creative, is worth a chuckle.
• There's one funny moment during the tense scene where Zetian and Shimin have to escape from the soldiers who are trying to force them on a suicide mission. Sima Yi and Yizhi distract them by getting in the way of their guns.
  Sima Yi: You can't shoot me, I'm from Central Command!
  Yizhi: You can't shoot me, I'm rich!
• After a pitched battle, shortly after being awakened from a two-hundred year long slumber, Zetian informs Emperor Qin Zheng that she plans to literally tear down the pillars of power and take over the world. His reaction is a resounding "meh."
• When Yizhi executes his father, he declares that he's just inherited 1.2 billion yuen. Qin Zheng blinks and asks how much has inflation gone up in the past two hundred years.
  Qin Zheng: Is that still a ridiculous amount of money?
