• When working with a much younger witch in Auror training, the lady in question identifies herself as Tonks, saying she won't give her first name. Lily then cheekily says she knows Nymphadora quite well from her past. Causing Tonks's hair to spontaneously change, and for her to nearly fall out of her chair in surprise.
  • Lily then uses the classic friend of a friend identification, saying your mother's cousin is my son's godfather.
• Harry calling Fred and George Smurfs after they get bruises together. Causing great laughter from everyone, especially since the twins don't know what smurfs are.
• Ginny has a bit of incredulousness that the headmaster is ordering them hot chocolate.
• Dramatic as it is, Hannah screaming "YOU'RE A WEREWOLF!" in surprise causes the whole great hall to turn and look at them.
• Lily forcing the Malfoys to grin and bear the mention of their estranged niece Nymphadora Tonks also making Auror, right in front of the Minister of Magic.
• Cho trying to justify to herself that she isn't spying on Harry and Hermione, but just happened to hear their conversation.
• Ron does the classic Spit Take after Harry confirms that Susan and he are together now. Especially after all his denials to Hermione that it could never happen.
• Due to a quirk in fate, when Hermione hears that Harry still hasn't solved the egg, she storms off to Hagrid's hut to confront him. Susan tries to follow after, only to stop and turn around because it's still February in Scotland. And it's FREEZING!
• As a kind of clap back to his friends keeping secrets on their romantic lives, Ron drops the fact that he's off on a date, shocking the two of them.
  • Hermione even goes into a rationalizing denial that perhaps he made it up to feel more positive about himself being the only single one in the friend group.
  • Then, on finding Ron in the great hall, when someone blurts out that, "Ron has a girlfriend!", Hermione ends up in utter shock that Ron didn't lie to them.
• Hermione rolling her eyes that Hannah is now giving Ron the public affection he so often criticized Harry for giving to Susan.
• Harry gives a Big "WHAT?!" on hearing about Barty Crouch Jr., which gets him and Susan kicked out of the Library.
• Thinking about why a "Barty Crouch" would be around Moody, Harry's mind almost goes right to what the truth is, before not getting over the hump that Crouch Jr. is supposedly dead.
• With the rest of the Hufflepuffs grumbling about how high the hedge maze is, Hannah complains that muggles could've created a screen to watch all this happening. When trying to explain this, Susan gives an annoyed comment that she knows what screens are.
• Ron musing whether Hermione is getting competitive with Susan Bones about doing more of her homework.
• After Bill mentions Fleur is working at Gringotts now, it's Ron, who had the most negative direct experience with her who's the most accepting of it compared with Ginny and Hermione.
