  • Masson's introduction in "Graveyard Rats" can net a chuckle or two. As the caretaker of a graveyard, he catches two young graverobbers in the act of stealing from a corpse. He chastises them for being so disrespectful toward the dead and scares them off with a gun. The moment he's sure they're gone, he jumps into the grave to rob the corpse himself.
  • In "The Outside," Stacey is watching an ad on television for Alo Glo lotion, except the man and woman in the commercial seem to be speaking to her directly. The woman states that the lotion's side effects may include "change of mood, stiff joints, hallucinations, fear of intimacy, internal emptiness, lack of ambition, lack of individualization, lack of independent thought and opinion. You may experience disinterest in activities previously considered pleasurable."
Woman: But it's all worth it.
  • This iteration of Brown Jenkin is the definition of Evil Is Petty. After hijacking Walter's body, he uses it for petty crimes like knocking off a beggar's tin and stealing an apple.
  • In "The Viewing," Lionel tells Randall that there's no smoking in the Obelisk Chamber. Randall apologizes, puts out his cigarette, then lights up a joint. Lionel tells him again that there's no smoking.
Randall: You never said anything about a J!
    Lionel: Regardless, there's no smoking.
    • Later, Lionel repeats his admonishment in a tone that sounds like he's channelling Willy Wonka.
Lionel: Randall, no smoking in the obelisk chamber. I beg of you.
    • Finally, after the *thing* has emerged from the obelisk and he and Charlotte are fleeing for their lives, Randall stops to gather Lionel's cocaine stash. Charlotte berates him for it and he ends up spilling it all on the floor, cursing out loud.
  • In "The Murmuring" in order the lighten the mood, Edgar puts on an old record and begins to dance in a very cartoonish way. It manages to get a laugh out of his normally reserved wife Nancy.
