Finding humor in Evil may require a taste for Black Comedy, but it is there.

    Season 1

177 Minutes

  • Though definitely disturbing, and still plenty horrific for both David and the viewer, the fact that Leland's "visit" to him while he prays that night starts off as him describing in crude, graphic detail what would happen if David and Kristen had sex, and ends with him getting bored when David refuses to respond to him and proceeding to begin to recite the entirety of the original Who's On First skit from memory in a nearly emotionless monotone. Considering that the scene cuts while he's still in the middle of it, one can only assume that he probably kept going until he was done with the whole thing.

3 Stars

  • While his assistant Patti Hitchens draws viewer sympathy, Byron Duke's behavior initially screams "bratty" rather than "demonically possessed." Kristen's fangirling over his Broadway work indicates she isn't taking this claim seriously either.
  • Ben's giving up on the digital assistant that's been causing so much misery and tossing it in the back of the garbage truck is as funny as it is disturbing.

2 Fathers

  • David and Kristen get caught up in a Mushroom Samba at David's father's Upstate place.
Kristen: This is the first time I've been high in 15 years.
David: This is the first time I've been high in 15 days.

Justice x 2

    Season 2

F is for Fire

  • Dr. Boggs first scene in the episode involves him heating up a Teddy-Bear shaped cushion in the microwave, so that he can have a warm ass while sitting through therapy sessions.
  • Ben can't help but snark at the absurdity of the exorcism situation.
Ben: We're in the middle of Queens with a sheik and a priest exorcising a nine-year old girl. Who doesn't think God has a sense of humor.

S is for Silence

  • Kristen gets drunk with a nun at the monastery while they are supposed to be rubbing down wine barrels with whiskey, but end up tripping all over the place and laughing while drinking said whiskey.
  • Ben is shown an ornately carved box on a pedestal, complete with latin inscriptions and a demon sculpture carved on top. They he notices some mysterious goo dripping out of it. He then carefully writes a note on a his pad and shows it to David.
Ben: (written) WTF
  • David tries to have a moment a quiet contemplation and prayer, but cannot keep his mind from wandering, first to a stain on the floor he thinks might be monk-vomit, and then a long string of silent Cluster F-Bomb's. This is all done through subtitles.
David: Fuck. Stop it! Fuck..... Fuck..... Fuckity fuck fuck fuck.... Fuck... Fuck... Fuck... Fuck...Kristen... Fuck... (Image of a sexy woman's mouth licking her lips)... This isn't working.

I is for IRS

  • The assessors are patiently waiting for a mysterious meeting, whom Bishop Marx told David would be with "The scariest woman (they've) ever met". Marx then enters and presents Anita Iota, agent of the IRS. Upon her introduction, the most overdramatic thunder sound effect plays as the Couch Gag begins.
  • Leland's meltdown when his exorcism gets too real is a sight to behold. He ends up a sniveling mess on the floor of his apartment, crying and begging Sheryl to help him. When she reluctantly agrees to come over, he adds on one final request.
    Leland: (blubbering) Bring rootbeer...!!!
  • When the assessors have presented their case against the New Ministry of Satan receiving tax-exempt status, two Ministry representatives come in to offer a rebuttal. Graham Lucian says that the assessors aren't objective because Kristen slept with him the previous night (true) and is trying to hurt him (unclear).
David: That's...an original way to go.

    Season 3

The Demon of Death

  • Leland's plan to get close to Lexis (via an online Animal Crossing-style game) backfires hilariously. At first, we think Lexis is being really foolish in even interacting with him, even though she's aware of his intentions and just wants to dig up more dirt before telling her mom. She then gets Laura, the youngest sister, chatting with him too (though he tried to ignore her). We then see him checking his phone as he is bombarded by game notifications, as all four sisters have joined in, chattering at him from all sides with their avatars, similar to how they are in real life. Overwhelmed, Leland throws a temper tantrum when he gets home, stomping on his phone until it breaks. Although Lexis didn't learn anything new about what Leland wanted, her gambit was ultimately successful.

The Angel of Warning

  • Sheryl wants to meet the boss at her new job, "The Manager", whom she is prohibited from seeing without an appointment. After some bribery, she gets in to see him, hoping to get a promotion. She finds a disgustingly smelly and fat demon is her boss, who is working out on an elliptical machine (he has to get his 20 minutes in a day). He later asks her to give him a back scratch, which is an absolutely foul experience for her, then slaps her on the ass when she is done. He comes off like a demonic Harvey Weinstein.
