Funny / Digimon Adventure: (2020)

Go To

It may be a reboot, but it still has its moments of funny!

In General

Episode 3

  • Joe appears in the summer camp and he tries to demonstrate how to use a knife. Offscreen, we don't really see what happens, but he screams and makes a big fuss over a 'scratch'.
Joe: (offscreen) ...Aaah! I cut my finger off! Somebody call an ambulance!
    Student: It's just a scratch...

Episode 7

  • After Joe accepts and joins the group on their journey, he tells the rest that him being the oldest out of them means they will learn more from him. Soon after, he loses balance and falls off from Ikkakumon. Then this exchange happens.
    Mimi: Did he just fall?
Agumon: That was a bad fall.
    Sora: Our poor councillor flopped.
Tai: That was one serious flop!
Joe: Stop saying I flopped already!

Episode 8

  • Joe tries to use a white flag by using Sora's towel (that she gives to Mimi to dry herself) to announce that they surrender, thinking that the Digimon will stop attacking this way. But both Joe and Mimi treating Sora's towel as if it's under Mimi's ownership instead is still laughable. Gorillamon shoots at Joe anyway, destroying the towel.
    Mimi: Oh, my precious towel...
    Palmon: It was Sora's, anyway.

Episode 15

  • Expect plenty of moments where Joe Screams Like a Little Girl! Takeshi Kusao sure has some pipes..
  • Mimi somehow ends up leading a runaway Kiwimon stampede.
    • Her reason for riding a Kiwimon: It looked cute!

Episode 28

  • In the midst of all the Chosen Children being scattered all over the Digital World, Joe has found himself in a hot spring, which he is taking time to enjoy. He considers making it the place for all of them to meet up, until he notices a Nanimon staring at him intently, which creeps him out.

Episode 30

Episode 43

  • The Digimon showcased in this are resident Large Ham Etemon and the just as hammy Volcamon, which are said to be rivals in their respective Reference Book descriptions. Ham-to-Ham Combat was expected, but then it came down to what can only be described as a Digimon rap battle.
    • Furthermore, their battle has a number of strange side effects on the Partner Digimon. Half of them suffer from fairly basic Power Incontinence: Agumon starts breathing fire nonstop (accidentally hitting Tai in the face), Biyomon flaps her wings uncontrollably, Palmon’s vines and petals grow out of control, and Gomamon summons his Marching Fishes and can’t stop. The others are where things get REALLY bizarre. Gatomon starts behaving like a real cat, Patamon inflates like a balloon, Gabumon straight-up vanishes and leaves only his pelt behind, and Tentomon dons a pair of shades and starts acting like he has a Split Personality!
      • After Gabumon disappears, Matt spends the rest of the episode looking for him in the background. Even when he's being caught in the attacks.
      • Digivolving doesn't help either— Ikkakumon's Harpoon Torpedo goes haywire and targets Joe instead.
  • The entire episode really qualifies.

Episode 45

  • All the girls have donned dresses to act as cheerleaders for the race between Garurumon and Machmon, and put a dress on an embarrassed T.K. who wonders why he has to wear one.

Episode 58

  • When Taichi and Agumon show up to see what's going on with Hikari's party, Tailmon glares into the forest and mutters "No...", intended to be a sign of disgust of the Soulmon infiltrating Petaldramon's forest and its Digitama. The juxtaposition of the events, however, made people jokingly interpret it as Tailmon saying "No, Taichi, mind your own business for once!"
