Funny / About Last Night (My Little Pony)

Go To

  • Pinkie Pie (to Rarity): "You go girl! Hurry, before you're sober enough to realize what a mistake you're making!"
  • Rarity gets so drunk that she decides to teleport to Canterlot and give Blueblood a piece of her mind for his apparent womanizing. The next we see her, she wakes up in bed with Blueblood, who coos her good morning, before she lets out a horrified scream. The next chapter expands on this further, with Blueblood showing her a tape of what happened, with her attacking him in her drunken state and him managing to hold her off, before they suddenly began passionately kissing.
  • We get a Mythology Gag about the show's, and the fanfic community's, Schizo Tech and Negative Continuity:
"Whoever married us must have videotaped it!"
    "...Videotape?" Applejack asked.
They all looked at the cowpony. "Yeah, you know, recorded it so we can watch it on a television?" Twilight asked slowly.
    "...Television?"
"You know, you have one in the living room of your house!" the unicorn exclaimed
"...Sweet Celestia, I do! But still, it's almost like that kind of fancy doodads never existed before now!"
"...How much did you drink last night?" Rainbow Dash asked.
  • Fluttershy gives Rainbow Dash some pointers on where not to put a misbehaving Angel:
Fluttershy: "Just stay out of my shed."
    Rainbow Dash: "...What?"
Fluttershy: "That's where I keep the nocturnal animals that come to me for treatment. Opening the door would let sunlight in, and that could hurt their eyes."
    Rainbow Dash: "...Oh."
  • The Implausible Deniability scene with the Mayor. She ends up eating a "chocolate coin" to prove it really is chocolate:
For a few seconds, the sound of unholy scraping of teeth against metal filled the room, until finally the Mayor gulped it down. She stopped, gagging, and swallowed a second and third time, until the coin went down. "See?" she smiled.
"...Are your teeth bleeding?" Twilight asked.
    "...I don’t think so."
  • At the end, we find out that Scootaloo has been pestering Rainbow:
Rainbow Dash: "Anyway, she just kept pressuring me to hang out with her and just kept being annoying, so I figured she needed a trip to the Rainbow Factory."
    Fluttershy: "...Really?"
Rainbow Dash: "Yeah, and it worked. We went on a guided tour and she loved all the machines and ran around in the play area."
  • Granny Smith, of all ponies, psyching out Applejack and Big Mac on where their father came from.
  • Princess Celestia gets Twilight's letter, and the marriage video tape. After watching it, Celestia makes sure that her sound-proof spells are working... and bursts out laughing. Luna has the same reaction when Celestia shows the tape hours later
  • When the Cutie Mark Crusaders heard about kissing booths at amusement parks, they thought it a good idea to try getting kissing cutie marks. And guess what? Spike is available. He flees.
  • And then Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon join in.
  • Angel being kept awake by Winona's barking.
  • Let's just get this out of the way: Anytime somepony learns of Twilight and Applejack's "incident."
  • When Flim and Flam are running from Applejack, they jump into a carriage and get away...only for them to hit a red light. Flam tries to get the driver to ignore it, but apparently, he's related to those ponies who drove Applejack out of Dodge Junction. When Flam asks him to name his price, Flim points out that they left their money behind. The driver then kicks them out.
  • Some random mugger tries to threaten Twilight and Applejack and rob them, not realizing who they were or how powerful they are. The next scene shows the two of them continuing to walk and talk about the incident as if it were just an inconvenience.
  • Shining Armor tries to find Applejack and murder her with a sword for getting his sister drunk and marrying her. When Big Mac finds out someone is threatening his little sister he chases after Shining, and Apple Bloom cheers him on.
  • Apple Bloom decides to leave them be instead of following them because she knows Applejack can take care of herself, and with Twilight with her she has nothing to worry about.
  • Once Shining Armor meets up with Big Mac, he's suddenly using an axe instead of a sword. When this was pointed out in the comments, the author quickly edited the previous chapter to change the sword to an axe and then that he did not just edit the previous chapter to fix the continuity error.
  • Rarity tries to prove to Twilight she isn't a changeling by having Twilight ask her something only she would know the answer to. Rarity fails to answer the first two questions because, as shown in flashbacks, she wasn't listening when she would have heard the answers and was having internal monologues. The third question was to name her mother's maiden name. Her answer:
    Rarity: ...Pass?
  • The big chase scene as the plot lines collide. Twilight chases Rarity thinking she's a changeling, Shining chases Applejack to kill her for getting his sister drunk, Big Mac chases Shining to protect his sister, and they all get into a Big Ball of Violence. Like something out of a Scooby-Doo chase scene. And it all ends with Twilight misfiring a spell that destroys the floor revealing the hiding spot of Queen Chrysalis and her changelings.
