  • Many fans of Parappa The Rapper have latched on to Friday Night Funkin' as something of a successor to the former series. This is because both games center on rappers who rap in part to impress their respective Love Interests, and both are Rhythm Games which operate on a call-and-response format. It helps that Parappa was cited as one of the game's primary inspirations, and Parappa is a common subject of animations that recreate levels within Friday Night Funkin's style.
  • Friday Night Funkin' has been compared to the karaoke minigames in the Yakuza series, with several mods porting the songs over to Friday Night Funkin'. There are also a few sprite swap mods regarding the series' protagonist, Kiryu Kazuma. There's even a mod in which BF and Kiryu can do some of the karaoke songs together.
  • With Vocaloid and UTAU; in addition to the widespread fanon that Boyfriend and Miku are siblings, UTAU fans have had a field day recreating and repurposing the Friday Night Funkin' character voices for use in their own songs. However, due to a combination of the overwhelming amount of bad UTAU covers tainting people’s perception of UTAU covers in general, the abundance of Friday Night Funkin' covers overshadowing UTAU covers of non-FNF songs and the program itself not being designed for Friday Night Funkin' songs in general, it has become a Fandom Rivalry.
  • In part because of a popular mod where the Boyfriend is swapped with the titular character, fans of Friday Night Funkin' are also commonly fans of ENA. Both having charming, quirky character designs and banging music helps as well.
  • While there was already some overlap between Friday Night Funkin' and Madness Combat fans thanks to the teaser trailer showcasing Hank as a soon-to-be-added playable character, The Tricky Mod enticed many more fans of both series to check out the other, due to the Mythology Gags to the source material, awesome music, and the mod even being approved by Krinkels himself.
  • With JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind after a JJBA- themed mod gained popularity, replacing Boyfriend with Narancia, Girlfriend with Trish Una and Daddy Dearest with Diavolo, with amusingly spot-on dance poses to boot. A later update would add Fugo as another GF reskin, Guido Mista as Pico, and Doppio as Mommy Mearest, which is an especially popular mod due to the beeping sounds of "MILF" sounding hilariously like Doppio calling the Boss.
  • With SiIvaGunner, thanks to the regular amount of rips + mods uploaded almost weekly by them, along with ninjamuffin99 having been a massive fan of them well before he ever started making games, with him and Kawai Sprite regularly commenting on or sharing SiIva rips of the game.
  • With Happy Tree Friends, thanks in large part to two mods (both of which happen to be centered around Flippy) which brought on new fans for the long-dormant web series.invoked
  • Ever since SMG4 started making videos about Friday Night Funkin', fans of that series and FNF fans get along pretty well.
  • Shortly after the show's trailer was released, the Friday Night Funkin' community jumped on Pibby due to the immense modding potential the series' concept had, from creative and disturbing designs for the enemies to songs that could go wild with the glitch aesthetic. They even use characters from shows not owned by Cartoon Network.
  • Multiple members of the Undertale and Deltarune SoundCloud communities, such as Saster, Saruky, and SimplyCrispy, ended up becoming part of the FNF fandom and contributing tons of songs for various popular mods, leading to the two fandoms becoming close.
  • Friday Night Funkin's fanbase immediately grew close to the fans of Scratchin' Melodii, another indie rhythm game inspired by Parappa the Rapper. Melodii was immediately slotted in to the little friendship fans created between Boyfriend and Parappa, with the trio affectionately dubbed "BPM". This later skyrocketed after the creator of Carol, bbpanzu, made a GIF of the 3 playing UNO together in a reference to "Pasta Night" from Friday Night Funkin' Lullaby, causing a surge of extra attention to the other two fandoms and spawning multiple covers of the song with the trio, and eventually an entire mod was made based around it.
