Fridge Brilliance

  • Why Colonel and Iris were created by Gate of all people? (Many fans have them be created by an OC.) Because they're meant to be the ultimate Reploid, whose creation is Gate's greatest ambition. See also Fridge Horror below in Iris' case.
  • How come Signas is not only a member of X's team (by definition, either a former Maverick, a Reploid that thinks they're a Maverick (in Cadis' case) or someone who thinks the Maverick issue and the Maverick Wars are their fault (case of Dr. Cain, X and Alia)), but also Sigma of all people? Well, not only Sigma's original body had feats that were supposed to prevent him from going Maverick, but it's stated throughout the story that the virus only infects the system buffer of a Reploid, in order to torture his victims. Almost as if this discovery was a Foreshadowing at the time it was made.
  • It might seem odd how Serges calling X "Mega Man" made X realize Serges is actually Dr. Wily. But then you realize Zero mistook Quickman the Reploid for Quick Man the Robot Master (you can't blame Zero, though: Boomer Kuwanger already was an Expy of Quick Man, and how he disguised himself? By making himself more of a Quick Man Clone!), meaning that the Maverick Hunters know about the Wily Wars, explainable by the fact Dr. Cain was constantly making research onto Dr. Light's technology to stop Reploids from going Maverick. When you work with 18 Reploids that know about the Wily Wars, you'd recognize Wily from any form of disguise. And working with 8 is enough to figure out Wily is The Man Behind the Man.

Fridge Horror

  • This one is also a Tearjerker, since it's about Iris. She was created by Gate, and we all know what happened to his Nightmare Investigators prior to X5. If Zero wouldn't have taken Iris under his wing, she would have suffered the same fate.
    • Worse, Iris' fight with Zero would make people claim: "See, I knew it! Iris was create by Gate, so of curse she'd go Maverick and fight Zero! Iris must die!" Which is Harsher in Hindsight, since the re actually are people in real life that hate Iris just because of her fight with Zero.
  • Considering that a Reploid's power core is it's (physical) heart, then X's worlds mean that, if Iris was a human rather than a Ridiculously Human Robot, the only way she could be saved was through a heart transplant.
  • Here's an In-Universe one. While fighting Iris, Zero was hit by this in regards of X's "What the Hell, Hero?" look when Zero killed Mac. To quote:
"He understood now, so suddenly, why X had looked at him that way after he cut down Mac in front of him. If he'd been trapped, X cutting down Iris to save him from this... And he'd done it himself."

Fridge Logic

  • In X Chronicles, X does everything he can to keep as much of the Mavericks intact as possible. Sometimes it sums up to their personality drives, but it still works. The question is, why didn't he do it in the games?
