Fridge / The Dictator

Fridge Brilliance:

• Why is Zoey often called a boy by Aladeen and falls in love with her? Stereotypically, Arab women are for procreation and young men are for pleasure.
• Putting Wadiya in place of Eritrea makes sense, considering how Eritrea is considered to be Africa's most oppressed nation. It is said to have even worse press freedom than North Korea.
• Aladeen explicitly states he isn't Arab. Gaddafi, his chief inspiration, had Berber ancestry and is speculated to have had a Jewish maternal grandmother^note which is extremely important since most Jewish sects consider matrilineal descent a requirement to be considered Jewish. Eritrea, the place where Wadiya is placed, isn't an Arab nation, with its population being mainly Tingriya and Tingre.
• Aladeen thinking that his initial body double is still alive isn't him being stupid. Given how his second body double can indeed survive a headshot and Aladeen isn't too fazed by it, it must have happened before and Aladeen just assumes that his original one can do it too.
• Aladeen managing to be a decent grocery manager isn't too crazy: dictators may be corrupt and use force, but the worst tyrants are often good at cajoling and manipulating those around them to stay in power on top of being ruthless. Managing a business also requires having a certain degree of people skills, as well as a certain degree of ruthlessness, so it is natural for a business to fit Aladeen like a glove.
• Aladeen being kidnapped and tortured by an American is also a (subtle) swipe at how America's behavior on the world stage is often that of a dictatorship. This man claims to be a patriot, and yet he does things that are nominally un-American.
• Clayton having a pathetic set of tools for his torture of Aladeen makes sense: he's grown up in a country that, while not perfect, generally doesn't have systems of institutional torture. Aladeen, a man who inherited a dictatorship, would be far more up to date on torture tools.

Fridge Horror:

• Aladeen has never needed to masturbate because he's always had women to give him sex on demand. Consider the average age at which most boys start masturbating... and consider how forcible his female guards were with his double... yeah...
• While Aladeen's cruelty is mostly Played for Laughs, it goes without saying he is responsible for some degree of death and suffering, even if the resistance managed to smuggle his victims to the United States.
