  • Fridge Logic: Why didn't Dean leave the tablet in the box warded against angels, or at least put it back in the box, as soon as Castiel started asking for the tablet in a suspicious manner?
    • Presumably, Dean figured that, while the box has wards to prevent angels getting inside it, this doesn't prevent them from simply picking it up and taking it back to Heaven unopened, which would suit their purposes just fine.
    • Given Castiel's discussion with Naomi about how the box is warded, it seemed to be implied that perhaps an angel couldn't pick it up due to the warding. We've learned previously that warding a building with an angel already inside it would expel the angel, and that there may be sigils that can make angels weak. Manchurian!Cas seemed to really want Dean to get the tablet out for them, and given that Naomi is screwing with angels' factory settings, she might not want to settle for merely protecting the tablet, but would prefer to get the information herself. Of course, Dean not having the full story there might have influenced his decision, but it also seems likely that Dean figured trying to talk Castiel down was a better plan than trying to get one over on a person who can perform certain acts of telepathy and teleport. If Dean had tried to shove the tablet back in the box, Cas might have freaked, flash-stepped over and grabbed him, but since Dean kept the tablet in sight and kept talking, Cas stayed relatively calm (for a while) and was willing to negotiate with him. It's not the first time Dean's been in a hostage/Macguffin situation, and it's generally good not to make sudden moves when dealing with someone who's unstable.
    • Also Dean had already broken the lock. Castiel could just throw something at the box to knock it over and tip out the tablet.
