As seen in the long shots of the city of Anatae, absolutely nothing about the city's layout makes sense. The two biggest problems are the miles-long aqueduct which runs parallel to a source of fresh water, rendering it completely redundant. And perhaps more importantly, the giant sinkhole the demons are forced to live in. Which runs next to a river and experiences rain, and has no apparent drainage, yet somehow isn't a lake.
