Fridge / Mystery Science Theater 3000 S06 E12: The Starfighters

• Fridge Brilliance: Mike's "Bold" BBQ sauce (which turns out to not be bold in the slightest) bit actually is thematically connected to the movie. Both the sauce and movie profess to be these exciting things only to turn out to be complete duds.
  • "Cowboy Mike's Ricochet Barbeque Sauce" is supposed to be "BOLD" and spicy... but it's really bland.
  • The Starfighters has a cool title and is supposed to be this cool, action-packed military melodrama with romance and full of fighter-jets doing awesome fighter-jet stuff... Top Gun before there was a Top Gun... but it turns out to be a long slog staring at butt-ugly non-actors where little happens and the only "action" consists of super-dull refueling and bombing run exercises and the "romance" goes nowhere (plus, the 'Starfighter' in Real Life was the fighter-jet equivalent of The Alleged Car). It's pretty sad when the "Poopy Suit" is far more interesting than a lightning-fast, death-dealing fighter-jet!
