Fridge Brilliance
  • At first glance, it might seem odd that the mice of Wormwood would consider eating a wolf like Trick, but in real life, some mice are actually carnivorous and will eat meat when they get their hands on it.
  • Danny and Chai end up together by the sixth game. This might come out of left field for some, but thinking about it, the two do have traits in common: They're both clerks, they're both stoic, heck, they both even have the same bangs-hiding-one-eye style. Additionally, Chai is also the only fox that never had any conflict with rabbits or wolves, and they go by they/them, two things that also end up applying to Danny.
  • On the title screen of the Updated Re Release, Treat is the only main character who isn't next to a group of her fellow wolves, the only other wolf is Trick, and they are behind her and facing away from her, symbolizing how they're her Best Friend yet they became distant when Treat left and then when Trick started travelling. On the other hand, Mochi and Moxie are standing in front of their fellow rabbits and foxes, respectively, fitting with the Lonely Wolf title. However, at the same time, them and the aforementioned Trick are the closest characters to Treat, since they are the closest relationships she has in the series.
  • In real life, rabbits are much smaller compared wolves and foxes, hence why Mochi is the shortest of the protagonists, which is also helped with her being the youngest.
  • In Chapter 7, Treat tells Mochi and Moxie that she thought she had feelings for Trick, but not in the same way she had it for them both. Now look at the names: Treat is a general term for food, so of course she would be together with two characters named after food (Japanese rice cake and a brand of soft drinks), but not someone named Trick. In other words, her feelings were tricked, plus Trick is aromantic, adding Incompatible Orientation as another trick.
  • Mochi is named after a type of Japanese rice cakes made with pounded rice grains. This fits her character being pounded by life after she befriends predators, hardening her and her views.
  • Treat's dream of the moon ceremony in Chapter 5 includes both Juju and Mango who don't have any interaction despite being daughter and father. This is because Treat wasn't aware of the connection till Chapter 7.

Fridge Horror

  • Drop is the one who saves Trick from getting eaten by the mice of Wormwood. Since Drop moves out shortly after that, she won't be there to stop the mice from eating some other hapless traveler...
  • In the first chapter, you get an option to either wear your winter clothes or not when you go to Danny's store. This seems to be the only option in the series that is neither a But Thou Must! nor plot relevant, but think of it like this: Treat has already gone to Frosting time and time again before, and probably got verbally assaulted repeatedly by the rabbits. She's almost barely managing to eat and is close to starving. So could the option to not wear winter clothes be Treat's subconsciously seeking death? She already seems on the brink of depression, but is probably too afraid or reluctant to take her own life (i.e. by jumping off the nearby cliff) so she's trying a different approach. Also, Mochi is the only one who comments on Treat possibly feeling cold from her slim body, because she's thoughtful. All the other rabbits wouldn't give a damn, and who's to say Treat didn't go outside without winter attire prior to this option?
  • The Bad Ending of Chapter 1 shows us what would've happened if Mochi never met Treat: No one saves her from being chased by Moxie so she ends up agreeing with Juju and becomes fearful of predators. What's worse however, is Juju's paranoia and xenophobia amplifying to the point of trying to murder Treat in the night. The worst we've seen of Juju so far is being a mere jerkass, so to think one minor change stopped her from turning out this way has some disturbing implications...
  • Chapter 1's Bad Ending overall is this in a nutshell with its revelation of the wolf pack in Glaze and how they operate. Who knows how many rabbits suffered at the hands of Timber throughout the series?

Fridge Sadness

  • Trick's line "Did you really abandon me too? That's not cool..." while they're at their master's old cabin seems like it's referring to Treat at first, but once you see this strip from the comic confirming that Trick was abandoned by their parents, the line hits you in the feels ten times harder...
  • When Mochi reveals how other rabbits used to make fun of her heterochromia, she mentions that Juju was the one who told her to hide it with her bangs. This was before their relationship soured due to the events of the story. Imagine what other self-destructive advice Juju could've given to poor Mochi.
  • Speaking of the Hiding Behind Your Bangs trope, it is used quite a few times in the series (with an occasional Eyes Out of Sight). With the reveal about Mochi's bangs mentioned above, what are the chances someone else is using them for a similar reason?
