In Man of Medan, the Curator appeared in the background of any scene in which a main character could die. But here, the only time he appears in this fashion is the ending in which Anthony commits suicide. It's an early hint that the other playable characters aren't real.
Anthony is driving an empty bus around. It's definitely pure coincidence but given that the game is nominally set in May 2020, the idea that the bus is empty due to the COVID-19 Pandemic would certainly help to explain why no-one seems to find this weird.
