Fridge Brilliance

     Killer Bean Forever
  • Why do the gangsters from the opening have a low-tech phone that seems to be beneath the phones anyone else has? It's probably a burner phone meant to be cheaply bought and disposed of.
  • Each of the major combatants' weapons and fighting styles are not only ways to keep the fights interesting, but also reflective of their mentalities and the way they go about things:
    • Killer Bean uses two mid-range pistols with gold bullets, and tends to use his guns liberally mixed with bits of martial arts and acrobatics. This shows him as a highly versatile fighter with a reasonable mix of skills at his disposal, but his liberal use of his guns in most situations and his general disregard for the sheer amount of collateral damage he tends to cause reflects his recklessness and careless behavior. He's also shown to be extremely shortsighted, and often so focused on completing his immediate objective that he ends up missing the bigger picture until someone directs him in the right way. This is evident when Vagan gets the upper hand on him by destroying his bike from a distance to catch Killer Bean in the explosion, rather than directly confront him. That said, his ability to adapt also allows him to keep going when other people might have given up.
    • Vagan uses a sniper rifle with armor piercing rounds, and later his own two pistols with more focused use of bullets. The sniper rifle shows him to be a long term visionary, fitting with him keeping close to Cappuccino to exploit his weapons dealing connections for his own goals. The powerful bullets also shows him to be decisive and tries to defeat his enemies before they become a bigger problem instead of taking unnecessary risks. This is also shown with him using his pistols to detonate his bike from a safe distance instead risking a direct confrontation with Killer Bean. However, the sniper rifle can also be a representation of his narrow vision, as he doesn't believe that the Shadow Agency can be beaten, instead preferring to flee when things are stacked against him unless he has no better option. It's also reflected in him not managing to get off any shots against Killer Bean when they're in a standoff.
    • Jet Bean is purely martial arts, with bullet deflecting bracers. He is ridiculously skilled in a direct confrontation, and underestimating him is dangerous if you're fighting him directly, managing to keep Killer Bean on the ropes for the entirety of their fight. However, it's also a reflection of his shortsightedness, as he is arguably just as arrogant as Killer Bean, and is thoroughly uncaring of the long term picture with the Shadow Agency, or the possibility of his own termination if he ever failed (not that it mattered given his ultimate defeat). It also proves to be extremely limited when fighting against an opponent who can adapt to his shortcomings, such as Killer Bean's hand to hand skills and eventual bullet misdirection trick.
    • Detective Cromwell only uses a single revolver. It shows that he can be a dangerous fighter, and demonstrates his focus when it comes to noticing odd details or cases. That said, it's also a demonstration of how limited he really is compared to the far more powerful fighters around him, and that if he's disarmed or lacks the in-depth knowledge, he's out of luck.
  • Vagan lost extremely easily despite how much buildup he had received, but it arguably makes a lot of sense that he might have not been able or willing to win, given certain factors:
    • 1) Vagan doesn't like to fight directly if he can help it, preferring to fight from a distance or taking out his enemies before they can fight back. Against Killer Bean, he basically had his back to the wall against a very versatile and very determined fighter who would not have stopped at anything to kill him for his betrayal, and his options were very limited.
    • 2) Vagan is out of practice. It's been years since he was part of the Shadow Agency, and while his skills are excellent, it's not likely that he would have been able to maintain the same level of rigor and training with only Cappuccino's goons compared to his time in the Shadow Agency. Once he couldn't get rid of the problem from a safe distance and was cornered, it was all over for him.
    • 3) Where would Vagan have gone even if he did succeed in killing Killer Bean? His cover is blown, Cappuccino is dead as well as a substantial chunk of the syndicate he was with, and Cromwell and the Shadow Agency know where he is. Even if he did manage to beat Killer Bean, it's highly unlikely that he would have been able to keep going forever, and if any future employers caught wind of his past ties, no one would be willing to protect him, let alone be able to do so.

Fridge Horror

     Killer Bean: The Series
  • Reximus shoots a missile at a kid, possibly killing him and his family. One must wonder how many people got blown to bits by someone they only knew as an gamer in the enemy team.
    • Heck, the fact that such an impulsive individual has access to military tech and equipment is quite discomforting.
