Fridge Brilliance

  • Daimos is based on classical fairy tales and Romeo and Juliet, which means that Margarete is Erika's Fairy Godmother.
  • Why is Baam science more advanced than human science? Because as said by Erika in episode 18, certain bacteria develop faster in Baam bodies than human bodies, so of course Baam society would work on more complex and advanced technology to ensure they stay healthy.
  • Why did the Baamites go to Earth, instead of other planets, when Victory Five establishes that Boazania exists? Because the Boazanians would have looked down on the Baam for not having horns.
    • That wasn't written by Nagahama though. Also, it would contradict the canon of Daimos to take place in the same universe as Voltes V considering both Alien Invasions take place in 1995 (Super Robot Wars usually gets around the issue by taking place in an AU)
  • Olban making Richter the leader of the Baamite invasion is a Xanatos Gambit; if Richter succeeds, Baam gains a new colony; if Richter fails and dies in battle, that's one less heir to the throne he has to worry about.
  • Richter's anger at the death of his father makes more sense once you watch episode 16 and realize that him and Erika lost their mother at a young age. With Leon gone, he is now an orphan.
  • The seventh episode of the series focuses on Nana. "Seven" in Japanese is read as "Nana" (七).

Fridge Logic

  • The Baam are capable of hiding their wings, like Erika. Couldn't they have done so to blend in with the humans?

Fridge Horror

  • So Olban was planning to kill Leon so he could have the throne for himself. In episode 16, it's revealed that the Queen died because the building they were on was set on fire, though Erika, Richter and Leon survived. Who's to say the fire wasn’t deliberately instigated by Olban?
  • Olban's crush on Erika is wrong for so many reasons...but consider that as Leon's Royal Advisor (and the fact that he seems to be around Margarete's age), he's likely watched Erika grow up ever since she was a small child.
