    Ruby Sulphur Trio

Boscha Urodela

  • To Amity Blight. Both of them are daughters of socialites who hold considerable power in their respective homes. Both were taught to never show weakness, and are incredibly talented at magic. However, while Amity's talented at Abomination magic, which involves creating them, Boscha's talented at fire magic, holding enough firepower to destroy everything. And while both have a Hidden Heart of Gold, Amity's slowly come out to light thanks to the efforts of Luz and her friends, while Boscha, having nobody to help her heal, keeps it hidden deep within herself.
  • To Luz Noceda. They're both incredibly powerful magic casters of unorthodox backgrounds whose actions bring notable changes. Luz is a human who operates with Wild Magic, while Boscha's a native of the Boiling Underworld who primarily uses fire magic. Luz's arrival changed a lot of things for the better in the Boiling Isles, while Boscha's disappearence initially doesn't change much until her parents notice, and put the Blights at risk. Finally, Luz is a Positive Friend Influence, helping the people around her heal and grow into better people, while Boscha's a Toxic Friend Influence, changing those around her for the worst and risking having them be bullied just by associating with her.
  • To Chloe of the Vermillion: they're Static Passengers with red hair, fiery personalities and can cast fire spells. The main difference is that Boscha is a witch who was born with magic, and Chloe is a human and mostly uses her skills with a donut holer to fight. But whereas Boscha could care less about sympathizing with others, Amelia, and even murder everyone in her path Chloe is willing to see that Amelia is making amends and feels disgusted in killing Boscha, even attempting to help her. Boscha is ready to set fire to the Train without a second thought while Chloe hesitates to shed blood until she has no choice.
  • To Tulip Olsen. Both are redheaded teenagers who encounter the Train while running away, and both have notable anger issues. Tulip ran away from home to try get to coding camp on her own, while Boscha ran away after accidentally hurting Skara out of fear of consequences. Tulip is a human, while Boscha's a witch. Tulip is primarily driven by logic, while Boscha rarely questions anything that happens on the Train. Tulip is a Badass Normal girl who relies on her smarts and wits, while Boscha uses fire magic most of the time.

Chris

  • To Atticus. They're both the non-human Denizen of their group, Atticus being a talking corgi, while Chris is a sentient crystal ball. They're both the Non-Action Guy who still manage to find a way to help; Atticus by providing emotional and moral support, while Chris has the ability to see the future and is ridiculously tough to hurt. Finally, their reasons for joining their respective girls are different: Atticus joins Chloe because he wants to come along with her, while Chris goes with Boscha to ensure she doesn't go overboard.
  • To MT. Both of them are Denizens made of really tough materials: MT is made of Chrome, Chris is made some unspecified crystal. MT is a Jerk with a Heart of Gold, Chris is a Nice Guy. MT is a humanoid Denizen, Chris is a non-human Denizen. Finally, both of them join their Passenger partners for ulterior motives; MT joins Jesse in hopes of getting a number, while Chris joins Boscha to stop her from going on a rampage.
  • To Lexi. They're both non-human Denizens with supernatural powers; Lexi can control papers and shapeshift, while Chris can see the future. Both of them are initially wary of their respective girl, but while Lexi smugly doesn't believe Chloe can impress him, Boscha's cruelty horrifies Chris so much that he goes with her to restrain her. And while they both don't like the Apex, Chris simply wanted them to leave his home Car and seems to be ambivalent to them at best, while Lexi completely loathes them.

Phosphophyllite

  • To Lexi. Both of them are the humanoid Denizen member of their trios, both have a close relationship with their redheaded leaders, and are not to be messed with. However, while Lexi's humanoid form is just one of many he can take, Phos is restricted to their humanoid self. While Lexi hates the Apex with a burning passion, Phos is at least thankful to Simon and Grace for hearing their plight. And while both they and Lexi are impulsive and rush headfirst into things, Phos eventually grows out of this mindset, while Lexi is stuck with it.
  • To MT. Both of them are humanoid Denizens made of metals (Chrome for MT, the similarly named gem for Phos) and who mostly go by nicknames. MT is a living reflection from the Chrome Car, while Phos is a living Gem humanoid from the Lustrous Car. MT is identified as female, while gender-neutral writing is used for Phos. Finally, MT is literally Made of Iron, while Phos is rather brittle.
    Boiling Isles

Skara Brae

  • To Willow Park. Both of them are talented witches whose tracks weren't their initial choice: Willow got stuck in the Abomination track, where she did terribly, and it was only when Luz pulled some strings that she entered the Plant track, where her powers could bloom. Skara, meanwhile, wanted to go to the Healing track, but not only is she stuck in the Bard track, but she doesn't seem to be doing too bad there. They both also hold some anger and resentment towards Amity, but while Willow kept it bottled up to the point it boiled over, Skara doesn't even bother hiding her dislike towards her, even relishing it at times.
  • To Luz Noceda. Both of them are powerful magic casters with a sunny disposition who are associated with a controversial witch. Luz is the Token Human of Hexside, while Skara is allegedly a witch. Luz studies every single track at Hexside, while Skara sticks to one. Luz uses Wild Magic in the form of glyphs, while Skara uses Magic Music with her flute. Finally, Luz associates with Amity and is well-liked by her peers, while Skara associates with Boscha and is heavily disliked by them.
  • To Amity Blight. While Amity was born into wealth and power, Skara was born a "Nothing" in a world that literally consumed those who weren't strong enough to live. Skara's first meeting with Boscha was relatively civil, and it made her idolize her, while Amity's first meeting with Boscha was so traumatic it's implied she blocked the memory of it, and it convinced her that Boscha was a hopeless psychopath. While both flak for their failed friendship with Boscha, but while Skara's flak comes from doing nothing, Amity's flak comes from doing something that only made things worse. And while both assume a Non-Human Humanoid Hybrid form, Amity's wasn't intentional, and it took a few moments for it to appear, with it being implied that it can be undone. Skara, meanwhile, willingly drank the potion meant for Puddles and transformed immediately, and Even after turning back to normal, Eda says she's gonna retain Griffin traits for the rest of her life.
  • To Eda, of all people. Both of them are unorthodox witches who assume monstrous forms and quit Hexside. Eda is a Master of All who doesn't stick to one particular type of magic, Skara is a Magical Flutist who uses Magic Music instead of circles. Eda was cursed by Lilith to become an Owlbeast while Skara became a half-Griffin as a consequence of drinking a Healing Potion meant for Puddles. Both of them were hurt by their sisters: Lilith cursed Eda, while Amity, who's eventually to be revealed to be Skara's half-sister, gave her a brutal beating and speech that tore down everything she knew about the world. And while Eda left Hexside due to her curse, Skara left Hexside as an add-on to her leaving the Boiling Isles period.

Amity Blight

  • To Amelia. Both of them are green-haired students who have a bad relationship with Skara. Amity's hair is dyed, while Amelia's hair's natural. Amity's on the Abomination track, Amelia's on the Plant track. Finally, while both of them eventually become regretful over how they treated Skara, it's when they become apologetic that differs: Amity becomes apologetic after giving Skara the mother of all beatdowns while Amelia's apologetic after Skara leaves the Boiling Isles.
  • To Viney. Both of them are girls who used Skara as In-Universe Catharsis for something related to Boscha; Amity used Skara to vent over how Boscha essentially got away while never apologizing, and Viney used Skara to make a Healing Potion for Puddles. Both of them threatened Skara, but while Amity eventually got physical, Viney stuck to emotional threats. And while both of them eventually greatly hurt Skara, Amity did so by beating the ever loving Titan out of her and delivering a Breaking Speech, while Viney's manipulation lead to Skara drinking the Healing Potion she made for Puddles, become a half-Griffin monster in the process.
  • To Cat. Both of them had a terrible relationship with Skara, but while Amity was driven by her anger over how Skara did nothing about Boscha, Cat was Driven by Envy because Skara had a greater potential for Healing magic than she did.
  • To Amelia Hughes. Both of them did something in their youth that had terrible ramifications; in Amelia's case, it was usurping One-One's role as the conductor, while in Amity's case, it was beating Boscha up with a chair and setting off a chain of events that caused Boscha to turn into a psychopath. Both of them are prodigies; Amelia with engineering and technology, Amity with Abomination magic. Both of them have a bad habit of denying any responsibility for their actions, but while Amelia simply denies it, Amity is also quick to blame anybody else for it. Finally, in their stubborn decisions, they cause great damage to a character: Amelia's implied to have split One-One into having multiple personalities, while Amity causes Skara to reach her breaking point and leave the Boiling Isles.

Willow Park

  • To Viney. Both of them are heavyset girls who have a good relationship with Luz, but a more complicated one with both Skara and Amity. Willow's on the Plant track, while Viney's on both the Healing and Beastkeeping tracks. Willow treats Skara decently and shows a bit of concern for her, while Viney uses her as In-Universe Catharsis for how Boscha hurt her pet. And while Willow's relationship with Amity is being amended, Viney doesn't care much for Amity and is willing to leave her at the mercy of Skara to teach her a lesson.

Mattholomule

  • To Skara. Both of them are dark-skinned students with a peculiar relationship with Boscha: Skara was her best, and eventually only, friend, while Mattholomule was dating her. Skara and Boscha's friendship was so well known it was the only thing people thought about when Skara came into the picture, while she and Mattholomule had a Secret Relationship until Skara blabbed it out. Finally, Skara is a Bard student who's a Magical Flutist, and is implied to not be able to use regular magic, while Mattholomule is a Construction student who uses the average Construction magic.
    Infinity Train

Chloe of the Vermillion

  • To Boscha Urodela. They're both redheaded girls who are Hot-Blooded, have access to fire magic, and possess volatile tempers, alongside being rather unstable. But while Boscha's a witch, Chloe's a human girl. While Boscha entered the Train with her insanely potent fire powers, Chloe acquired them, along with everything else, once she boarded the Train. And though both have quite a reputation, they're direct opposites: Chloe's a legendary hero who everybody in the Infinity Train knows and looks up to, while Boscha's a living nightmare who nobody ever wants to meet.
  • To Skara Brae. They're both nice girls who the world has treated unfairly due to a connection with a certain someone that gave everyone unfair expectations for them, and suffer a traumatic event that changes their character. However, while Skara was associated with Boscha, which made people believe she was as bad as her, and the traumatic event convinced her to leave the Boiling Isles to find herself, Chloe's associated with her father, who's a Pokémon Professor, and has lead people to believe she should follow in his footsteps, and the Spearow incident caused her to close herself from the world, believing they would only blame her further.
  • To Luz Noceda. They're both the Token Human of their respective groups (Hexside for Luz, Red Lotus Trio for Chloe) who use a different powerset compared to their teammates, and have a cheery disposition. However, Luz started with the cheerful attitude, while Chloe earned it through her travel on the Train. And while Luz specializes in Wild Magic, Chloe uses fire magic (allegedly), a donut holer, and demon summoning.

Hazel

  • To Boscha. It's Personal with the Apex for both of them, but while Boscha's reason is because they insult her personal belief of what an Apex is, Hazel resents them for seemingly taking Amelia away from her. They both have darker intentions, but while Boscha's a Card-Carrying Jerkass who doesn't hide what a terrible person she is, Hazel's a Bitch in Sheep's Clothing who takes effort into coming across as nicer than she actually is. They're both the token member of their respective teams, Boscha being a Token Wizard, while Hazel's a Token Non-Human. Finally, while they both dislike Amelia, Boscha outright loathes her for being the source of the Apex and wants to kill her, while Hazel only dislikes her, and wants to regain her attention once again.

Boschazens

  • They collectively serve as one to MT. Most of them are humanoid Denizens who came from a Passenger: MT was taken out of the Chrome Car by Tulip and is her reflection, while the Boschazens are the living pieces of Boscha's soul. MT's entire quest on the Train was to get a number so she could leave, while the Boschazens already have numbers, but are more about helping Boscha leave the Train instead.
     Melancholy Afterlife

Specter

  • To Boscha. Both of them are supernatural humanoids; Boscha's a witch, Specter's a mirror youkai. Both of them operate on Blue-and-Orange Morality, but while Boscha's is based on survival and giving everyone pain, and is mostly exclusive to her, Specter fails to see the problem with doing some morally questionable actions if it means making Chloe happy, and this is shared with all youkai.

Daiki Chienen

  • To Skara. Both of them are devoted to one person in particular, and they both have avian companions. But while Skara's a mentally stable individual, and her companion's a Palisman she has yet to awaken, Daiki is implied to be disturbed somehow, and his companion is a Pidove he calls Rosie.
