A 1988 Australian-New Zealand directed by Vincent Ward that follows a 14th century group's desperate search for a cure for the Black Death and going to the 20th century.

The movie stars Chris Haywood, Marshall Napier, Paul Livingston, Sarah Peirse, Jay Laga'aia, Hamish Mc Farlane, and Bruce Lyons.

It was released on December 15, 1988.

Not to be confused with the 1924 The Navigator.

  • Digging to China: A team of copper miners in medieval England dig through the Earth and travel through a tunnel, surfacing in modern Auckland, New Zealand.
  • Innocent Aliens: Although not aliens in three dimensions, the characters are an exact isomorphism of this trop in the time dimension, where the group of 14th century black and white British villagers flee the Black Plague by digging a tunnel that leads to Technicolor 20th century New Zealand.
