My Best Friend's Girl is a 2008 American romantic comedy film by Howard Deutch and stars Dane Cook, Kate Hudson, and Jason Biggs.
Sherman "Tank" Turner (Cook) has a particular occupation: If a guy loses a girl and wants her back, he gets in touch with Tank and pays him to take the girl on a bad date. Throughout the evening Tank will inevitably behave in the most moronic fashion so that the girl will get back to her ex. He shares an apartment with his step-cousin Dustin (Biggs) who has fallen for his colleague Alexis (Hudson) and confessed her his love, but she insists they remain friends. Dustin explains his situation to Tank, who volunteers his services, to which Dustin reluctantly accepts. Problem is, she doesn't care about Tank's bad behavior, and Tank begins to have genuine feelings for her.

- Obfuscating Stupidity: Basically the crux of Tank's "hobby": If a guy loses a girl and wants her back, the guy gets in touch with Tank and pays him to take the girl on a bad date. Throughout the evening, Tank inevitably behaves in the most moronic fashion causing the girl to realize that her ex was not really such a bad guy after all and get back to their ex.
- Sexual Karma: In the end, after he lets Tank and Alexis be together, it is suggested that Dustin hooks up with Alexis' roommate Ami (or at very least they have a sexual encounter, if not actually a relationship).
- Titled After the Song: The film is titled after the song of the same name by The Cars, which appears on the soundtrack.
