Love Crimes is a 1992 American thriller film directed by Lizzie Borden note  starring Sean Young and Patrick Bergin.

Assistant district attorney Dana Greenway (Young) conspires with police lieutenant Maria Johnson (Arnetia Walker) to go after "David Hanover" (Bergin), the alias given by a serial sexual predator who presents himself to his victims as a photographer, before abusing them both physically and financially. None of his victims have pressed charges against him because they feel that he fulfilled them in some way.

Greenway goes undercover, changing her appearance and passing herself off as a repressed schoolteacher. She eventually encounters Hanover, who seduces her, photographs her nude and causes Lt. Johnson to believe that Greenway might actually have fallen under his spell.

This film features examples of:

  • Abusive Parents: Greenway had an abusive father who locked her in a closet.
  • Black Boss Lady: Maria Johnson, the police lieutenant who plans with Greenway to catch Hanover, is an African-American woman.
  • Hello, Attorney!: Dana Greenway is an assistant district attorney who is beautiful enough (played by the beautiful Sean Young) to serve herself as bait for a sexual predator, even if she passes herself as a dowdy schoolteacher. Ironically enough, she gets chided as "butch" while as ADA.
  • Stockholm Syndrome: None of Hanover's previous victims have pressed charges against him, because they feel that he fulfilled them in some way. This becomes a concern for Lt. Johnson during her plan with Greenway to catch Hanover, as she fears that Greenway might actually have fallen under Hanover's spell.
