I Think We're Alone Now is a 2018 American post-apocalyptic romance drama film.

Del, (Peter Dinklage) is the only survivor an Unspecified Apocalypse where people simply died instantly, and believes he is the last man on earth. He is comfortable in this world, spending his time cleaning the houses in town and burying the dead.

One day he hears a car alarm in the distance and finds a crashed car with a young woman named Grace (Elle Fanning) inside.

It was released on September 14, 2018.

This film provides examples of:

  • After the End: Something happened to everyone, and only a few are left.
  • Cozy Catastrophe: Despite everyone being dead, Del is doing just fine. He's eating regularly, watching movies and keeping active.
  • Dancin' in the Ruins: Grace enjoys jamming to music in the depopulated world.
  • Depopulation Bomb: Instantly everyone was gone.
  • The Immune: Del and Grace have no idea why they are still alive. They're not the only ones, either.
  • Left Hanging: What caused the apocalypse? Who set off the fireworks? What happened to the dog? What are all these people doing in Palm Springs? What are Del and Grace going to do now? Go ahead and keep wondering.
  • May–December Romance: Del and Grace's ages are not stated. Dinklage was in his late 40's, and Fanning was about 20, though.
  • Mistaken for Apocalypse: When Grace's "parents" arrive, and it comes out that Del hasn't bothered exploring outside of the town, the possibility is dangled that this could be the case. It's not, though.
  • No Bikes in the Apocalypse: Averted. Grace uses a bike to get around.
  • Poor Communication Kills: Grace on the run, plus is still a little young and naive, which is why she isn't truthful about where she came from - that there's power and food and lots of people.
  • Post-Apocalyptic Dog: One dog has survived in a house and Grace takes it in.
  • Room Full of Crazy: Del is collecting photographs of the people whose houses he cleans.
  • Sir Not-Appearing-in-This-Trailer Paul Giamatti and Charlotte Gainsbourg.
  • Slept Through the Apocalypse: Del worked nights so was asleep when it happened.
  • Travel Montage: When Del crosses the country to find Grace. Evidently he meets no one during the whole trip.
  • Unspecified Apocalypse: All we know it it was instant - people simply died right where they were. And some folks survived. And we're not quite sure how long ago it was.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: The dog runs away and the topic is never brought up again.
  • Zombie Apocalypse: When Del asks why Grace was carrying a gun, she says that's if the bodies all reanimate. It's because she's being followed.
