Evil Toons is a 1992 horror B-Movie starring David Carradine and Monique Gabrielle, directed by Fred Olen Ray, a director known for low-budget movies.

A group of teenage girls are given a mysterious book with drawings of cartoon monsters inside it. This spawns a cartoon monster, that hunts them down.

This film contains examples of:

  • Back from the Dead: After the book is destroyed, the girls and the boyfriend come back to life.
  • Braids of Action: Megan wears her hair in a braid throughout the entire movie and she becomes the Final Girl in the climax
  • Buxom Beauty Standard: All of the girls qualify, but Megan is especially busty. Considering that she's presented as the plain Jane of the girls, it's especially surprising.
  • Covers Always Lie: Various cover art for the film feature Roxanne as the only woman on the cover, implying that she's the protagonist. Not only is that not the case (Megan is the protagonist), but she winds up being possessed by the monster midway through the film.
  • Deranged Animation: The titular toon monster.
  • Fanservice: You get to see a fair bit of nudity in the movie.
  • Final Girl: Megan is the last girl to survive, after her friends die or are possessed.
  • Ms. Fanservice: All four girls qualify, but Roxanne and Megan especially fit the bill.
  • Nerd Glasses: Megan wears glasses, and is the smartest of the girls, understanding Latin.
  • Never Trust a Title: There's only one toon in the entire movie, despite the title being in plural.
  • Never Trust a Trailer: The trailers and posters make it so that the cartoon is a major part of the film. It only appears for a few seconds, before possessing one of the girls.
  • Roger Rabbit Effect: The cartoon monster is the only animation in an otherwise live-action film.
  • Shout-Out: The monster cries, "I'm melting! What a world!" as it fades from existence.
  • Tome of Eldritch Lore: The book is full of strange drawings. When the girls read out from it, it summons a monster that possesses Roxanne
  • You Can Leave Your Hat On: At one point in the film, Roxanne performs a striptease in front of her friends and strips down to only a black thong.
