Proof that the remaining 10% is worth becoming a Jujutsu sorcerer and exercising curses here.

These are recommendations made by tropers for Jujutsu Kaisen Fan Fics, all of which have to be signed to stay on the page. Feel free to add a fanfic of your own to the list, but remember to use the template found here. No-name recommendations will be zapped.'' Nobody would back up the rec. Discussion of the recommendation is welcome on the discussion page. As such discussion is important, do remember to add the discussion page to the watchlist, if need be.

Do warn when a fanfic may head into non-canon territory. Some people just don't like it, and as we all know, Shipping is Serious Business. You can also add to the current recommendations if you want. Refrain from posting Conversation in the Main Page though; that goes in the discussion page.

  • Comments: Writes very good Satosugu, mostly oneshots, but also has an amazing long chaptered fic which they update once a month. Stories are usually ones with a mixture of fluff, heavy angst and hurt and comfort.

  • Comments: Writes a lot of tropes that are usually set in the universe, but also has ridiculously good 'no curse aus' that features everyone being disasters. They write practically everything, and it's written so well as well. (There are a lot of canon-divergences and what-ifs, as well as a large variety of ships that are portrayed realistically. If those are your things, I suggest you check them out.)

Count Your Blessings by coudric

  • Status: Dead
  • Pairing(s): A slight one between Geto/Gojo but mostly Gen.
  • Synopsis: In which the Zen'in family got a hold of Megumi a lot sooner, Gojo was a lot more hurt in the fight against Toji, and commits accidental mass murder all the while adopting four kids who somehow don't seem to mind all that much.
  • Comments: A nice 'for want of a nail' fic where Gojo accidentally snaps and goes on a killing spree after witnessing how the Zen'in family treated their non-jujutsu members all before Geto could conduct his own mass murder master plan.
The More Mundane Benefit of a God-Complex is the Right to Bully your Local Satan by divisiblebyfour
  • Recommended by: insomniouscat
  • Pairing(s): None
  • Synopsis: It is a truth mutually acknowledged by anyone who has ever had the misfortune of interacting with Sukuna or his wayward body parts that the King of Curses lived by the adage, "I'm going to cause problems on purpose." Which was why, one boring Tuesday, Gojo Satoru decides to fuck with the guy.
  • Comments: A hilarious, cracky oneshot where Gojo Satoru is Gojo Satoru, and decides to bully a thousand year demon because he's insufferable and has way too much free time. Featuring Megumi being exasperated (save him), Yuji being a surprisingly good critique, Kugisaki being an unknowing accomplice to Gojo (though they all are), a ridiculously bad movie, and Ryomen 'fuck-this-why-am-I-alive' Sukuna.

  • Synopsis: A collection of stories where instead of becoming a full time mercenary and selling Megumi off, the Gojo Clan reaches out to him and he discovers another way to spite the Zen'in family.
  • Comments: A really hilarious and cute stories of Toji trying to raise Megumi while bodyguarding/babysitting Gojo and fumbling over how to best become a parent. Includes a lot of adorable and hysterical moments between Gojo, Toji, and Megumi.

  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: When he first meets him, a curse stuffed down his throat by his own doing and a malevolence brewing in his belly that isn’t his own, Yuuji doesn’t know what to think of Gojo Satoru.
  • Comments: A marvelous Gojo Satoru character study from Yuuji's point of view.

  • Recommended by: noboody
  • Status: Ongoing
  • Pairing(s): background Geto Suguru/Gojo Satoru
  • Synopsis: The first thing 15 year-old Gojo Satoru says when he gets to the Tokyo Metropolitan Cursed Technical College is "You expect me to call them classmates?". Yuuji tries not to puke.
  • Comments: The time travel fix-it-fic you KNOW you need. AU in which Shibuya ended a little differently. Perfect mix of hilarity with a hint of angst and mystery. Author has done a wonderful job of exploring the characters as they were in the past, and Yuuji (with all his issues) is perfectly in character. Note that the author started writing this before catching up the manga (although they are caught up now)

Black Feathers by Fallen Brie

  • Status: Ongoing
  • Pairing(s): very mild Fushiguro Megumi/Itadori Yuuji/Kugisaki Nobara
  • Synopsis: Yuuji wakes up in an unfamiliar hospital with visions of strange creatures, no memory of the last 7 months, and a voice in his head. His doctor promises to fix him, so long as Yuuji moves in with him
  • Comments: The chapter count does say 1/2, but this could definitely stand on its own as a oneshot. Takes place in an AU where Shibuya never happens and has no spoilers for anime-only's!

  • Pairing(s): Megumi/Yuuji, Maki/Nobara, Toge/Yuuta, and Geto/Gojo
  • Synopsis: After Fushiguro dies he wakes up again only to find himself in The Good Place which is something he has a hard time believing because as far as he remembers, he was wearing an ankle monitor. His worries only start there because no matter how hard he tries he isn't attracted to his supposed soulmate Okkotsu Yuta. Instead, he can't help but be drawn to his cousin's soulmate, Itadori Yuuji.
His One And Only by coudric
  • Recommended by: insomniouscat
  • Status: Complete
  • Pairing(s): Geto Suguru/Gojo Satoru
  • Synopsis: [“The only thing you missed out on,” Utahime-sensei hissed into the palm that she was wiping over her face in agitation, “is the absolute disaster that was Getō and your idiot teacher. But it looks like you might get a crash course on that!”] Or: Getō has reclaimed his body (for the most part), Gojō's clingy and weirdly vulnerable and the kids cannot stand Getō's guts. The sentiment may or may not be returned.
  • Comments: This fic has beautiful writing, and is packed with angst, fluff, angst, and angst. The interactions between Gojo and Geto are emotionally vivid, and the interactions between Geto and Gojo's kids are realistically portrayed. There's a certain air to it that stings of loss, which matches perfectly to the aftermath of Shibuya.
Blooming amidst rot by coudric

  • Status: Complete
  • Pairing(s): Geto Suguru/Gojo Satoru
  • Synopsis: [“Satoru, I think- no. I…” He took a deep, shaky inhale of the suffocating air drenched in resentment that spasmed painfully in the back of his throat, his gaze fixated on the open door of the shed, ears picking up the faint thuds of steps moving away. “I am about to murder many people.” The words rolled haltingly over Suguru’s bile-coated tongue and into the void of oppressive silence at the other end of the line. Oddly enough, he could vividly imagine how they bounced around in Satoru’s head as Satoru tried to grasp them, confused and completely caught off-guard, his own chirpy chatter long since lodged somewhere between his vocal cords.]
  • Comments: A 'what-if' scenario that retells Geto's descent into insanity, this time with Gojo there to catch him in time. It's so beautifully written, and the hurt, disgust, and bitterness is all portrayed so well. Gojo and Geto are both in character, and the tension and distance between them is very realistic. It has a sequel up called Double Trouble which is a canon-divergence 'teacher Geto' au that can be read as a standalone.
King, Until I am by iamsomebody
  • Recommended by: insomniouscat
  • Status: Complete
  • Pairing(s): Geto Suguru/Gojo Satoru
  • Synopsis: "Your eyes may make you a king, but you’re still a man." Suguru was wrong, Satoru was a god.
  • Comments: Perhaps the most well-written oneshot under the Satosugu tag in ao3. If you've stumbled upon this fic before, and didn't read it because the synopsis was vague, I implore you to do so. This is one of the first Satosugu fics on ao3 back when the fandom was still small, but it's so well done that it remains one of the more famous ones. Gojo and Geto are both in character and the poetic descriptions are very enrapturing. The tension, and not the good type, is portrayed very well. The ending is very fluffy and warm.

  • Pairing(s): Fushiguro Megumi/Itadori Yuuji, background Kugisaki Nobara/Zenin Maki
  • Synopsis: “That kid,” Gojo begins, and Megumi turns towards the espresso machine to hide his face. “The one with the pink hair.” If only Gojo paid half as much attention to his job as he does to every acute detail of Megumi’s life.
  • The main ship is Itafushi, but it features Satosugu very prominently, with a background Nobamaki. This is a college au, where curses and jujutsu don't exist, and everyone's gay and working at a coffee shop on campus. Very fluffy and light, with a little bit of humor as well. Sukuna is Yuuji's brother in this, and Toji is (fortunately or unfortunately, it depends) as well.

  • Pairings: Fushiguro Megumi/Itadori Yuuji, Satoru Gojo/Suguru Getou, Kugisaki Nobara/Zenin Maki, Haibara Yu/Nanami Kento
  • Synopsis: An alternate universe where the cast are both residents and staff of a psychiatric ward. It centers primarily on Yuuji - here a new resident with dissociative identity disorder, his violent and temperamental alter Sukuna, and fellow resident Megumi, who struggles from borderline personality disorder, suicidal ideation, and his strained relationship with his father figure Getou.
  • Comments: Very well-written with strong and nuanced characterization. The fic is extremely dark and tackles harsh topics, but there's Breather Episodes to offset the at times grim tone.

  • Pairings: Satoru Gojo/Suguru Getou
  • Synopsis: Gojo and Geto dealing with their trauma post the death of Riko Amanai, and the change in their relationship after Gojo became the strongest. A character study of Gojo in particular.
  • Comments: Very good characterization of Gojo getting into the psychology of how his weird brain works. An exploration of his loneliness and his longing for Getou.

  • Synopsis: After the dealing and defeating the Cursed Wombs, Yuuji, Megumi and Nobara gets mysteriously transported into the My Hero Academia universe. With Itadori missing, they realize the only way to find their missing friend when alone in a unknown dimension is to sign up to UA to become heroes in order to grab the attention of Yuuji on the big screen so he knows where they are. All the while trying not gain suspicion from the others about where they really came from and trying to get home.
  • Comments: This is fic packs a very emotional punch where Megumi and Nobara have to deal with only having each other while stuck in a whole new world and trying to find their friend. Very realistic interactions and power system with Nobara and Megumi not being too overpowered but still possessing huge advantages in the field compared to the other students.

  • Status: Ongoing
  • Crossover with: The Garden of Sinners (Kara no Kyoukai)
  • Synopsis: "It's not the Six Eyes," they said. So then, the question is –what is it?
  • Comments: Not a true crossover so much as elements of The Garden Of Sinners have been ported over and established under the rules of Jujutsu Kaisen. The story takes place several years before canon and the main character is a civilian, branch member of the Gojo Clan, with some cues from Ryougi Shiki, who has awakened the Mystic (or Cursed in this story) Eyes of Death Perception and follows her story as she's introduced to Jujutsu society. Besides offering a compelling journey as the OC learns to become a sorcerer, the fic also greatly expands of the worldbuilding of the greater Jujutsu Kaisen setting as a whole, with emphasis placed on clan politics, factional rivalries, cultural traditions and more.

He sat there in his Reality Marble, outside of time and space, waiting for the Collective Unconsciousness of Mankind to once again pull his leash like…

…Huh. There was a minute tear of reality in the tiniest margin of his view.

It was like a mirror into the life of some…boy?

How bizarre. He could look into the mind of one Itadori Yuuji.
