Who Said You Were Leaving? is a Danganronpa V3 Fic by Mycorrhizae.

Post-apocalypse survivors Shuichi, Maki, and Kaito run into trouble when Kaito twists his ankle and hinders their mobility. Thankfully, a group of other survivors offers Shuichi and his friends refuge in the meantime. …But unbeknownst to Shuichi, none of them ever intend on them leaving.(Shuichi and the rest of the Training Trio get snatched by a possessive V3 cast. Well, it’s more like Shuichi gets snatched, but they take Maki and Kaito in the process and decide to keep them too.)Please note spoilers for Danganronpa V3 will be left untagged.

This fanfic provides examples of:

  • Adaptational Villainy: Kaede, pianist turned cult leader.
  • Badass in Distress: Maki hated even going here and was the first to suggest they leave, but was too late
  • Conditioned to Accept Horror: The other kidnapped members of the cult who despite seeming skittish and afraid, seem to get along with their captors, or are at least really good at faking a smile.
  • Cult: The group Kaede heads is a cult, though replacing the more religious fanaticism with an obsession with the weaker members viewed similar to children and as unable to survive without them.
  • Determinator: Kaede and her single minded determination to protect people.
  • Defiant Captive: Shuichi hates having to play along and even if he tries to fake it to survive, he will spite this situation at every point he can.
  • The Dragon: Rantaro, who seems to be much more aware of what they're actually doing, but even more willing to go along with Kaede's plans and desires, though he still listens to her as the leader.
  • I Have Your Wife: Kaede and Rantaro do not hesitate to leverage Kaito and Maki against Shuichi.
  • The Kindnapper: Kaede is desperately trying to make what she does appear to be this, seeming to genuinely believe she’s saving lives.
  • Twisted Ankle: Shuichi suffers from one, which is what unknowingly brings them into the den of the beast.
