Go To

Vulpinroid: Memento Mori is canonically the last story in the Vulpinroid series. Set in three time periods and two universes, it serves as an Origins Episode for Maria Robotnik and is an alternate retelling for events taking place in Sonic Adventure 2 (alternately: Sonic X and Shadow the Hedgehog).

In the year 2128, Royal Space Navy First Space Lord Admiral Miles "Tails" Prower brings attention to a crisis that threatens the inhabitants of History Gamma (Sonic the Hedgehog (Archie Comics)). Personally leading a massive fleet to History Gamma, he attempts to destroy the Death Egg II while also coordinating an evacuation to prepare for a potential worst-case scenario. Robotnik however has the upper hand and uses the Death Egg II to destroy Mobius while also setting off a Super Genesis Wave to fracture space-time. Returning to History Alpha with around 1,500 Mobian survivors, the admiral has found that the Genesis Wave prevents a return to History Gamma in any fashion and his wife, Surgeon Vice Admiral Lady Maria Robotnik-Prower was on Mobius Gamma.

Devastated by the loss, Tails attempted to determine a way to return back to History Gamma but the world governments on Earth and Kepler-22B decide that the timeship program which he fostered should be closed to prevent any further losses like that which were suffered. Angered by what he considered to be isolationism and defeatism, the vulpinroid skewered the decision and resigned in disgust. For the next sixty years, the retired Earl of Devon has lived in isolation in his estate at Powderham Castle with the History Gamma version of his family living with him. Despite being ageless, he reconditioned his outer covering to reflect his emotional state, gold fading to grey. Tensions between Tails and his son, Sir Arthur Robotnik-Prower, the Chief Constable of the Devon & Cornwall Constabulary have taken them off of speaking terms but he remains close to Arthur's twin sister Artemis.

  • British Stuffiness: Ironically from the son rather than the father. Sir Arthur Robotnik-Prower, having risen to the top of the Devon and Cornwall Constabulary is considerably frigid with his father. Cranked up to 11 when he finds that Lord Miles kept his sidearm and used it to kill the GUN trooper that was shooting at Maria Robotnik in self-defence.
  • Casting Gag: Cy-Fox tailored the presentation of 96-year 'old' Tails to where he is a vulpine version of Patrick Stewart as Jean-Luc Picard from Star Trek: Picard. However he has a hard time choosing between Jonathan Frakes or Anson Mount for Captain Arrow Rinehart, Tails' former first lieutenant (and later captain in his own right) of the Warspite. Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson for Sir Arthur and Dame Artemis Robotnik-Prower, Tails' 78-year old twin children
