Written and illustrated by Eggtempest, Turnabout Specter is an Ace Attorney Fan Fic taking place after the events of Dual Destinies.
The first Kurain Village Culture Festival is about to take place, but things go wrong when (of course) a murder take place on festival grounds. With a member of the Kurain School the head suspect, Phoenix decides to take the case.

Turnabout Specter includes examples of:
- Adaptational Sexuality: In contrast to the games, which doesn't delve into either one's sexuality, Maya and Franziska are a Happily Married couple in the fic.
- And There Was Much Rejoicing: Downplayed. Maya secretly admits to Phoenix that she is glad that Morgen is dead. Given how much of a horrible parent/aunt she is in canon, it's hard not to blame her.
- Blatant Lies: When Morgan takes the stand, she calls herself an exceptional spirit medium, even though that's not the case.
- Calling Parents by Their Name: Pearl refers to her mother as this now.
- Costume Evolution: Due to wanting to expand her wardrobe and having developed a newfound love of fashion, Pearl is shown to wear a green hoodie over her acolyte clothes.
- Fix Fic: In the author's note, Wren states the main reason for writing this fic was because she was disappointed how Maya and Pearl did not get any real Character Development in Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice, on top of several plots involving the Fey Clan never being brought up again after Trials and Tribulations
- Original Flavour: While it does take a couple of liberties with things, the fanfic largely stays true to the tone and structure of the games, even going as far as to depict several game elements, such as the court record and the iconic speech bubbles, via illustrations.
- Posthumous Character: Morgan Fey and Aldritch Spear are long dead, but they are channeled by Pearl and Maya respectively to testify.
- Precision F-Strike: After giving him an emotionally-driven "The Reason You Suck" Speech about how he doesn't understand her, Maya gives one to Phoenix right before she leaves.Maya: "I don’t need your help. So stay the fuck out of my way."
- The Reveal: Addie is revealed to be part of a family of spirit mediums that did another channeling technique. They had a school, but it's since gone under.
- Ship Tease: Between Addie and her friend, Cheryn.
- Took a Level in Cynic: Maya goes through this after the murder of Ehrel. Justified, when you consider everything she's gone through in the main series, this just being the tipping point her breaking point.
- Took a Level in Kindness: While she still has a bit of an edge and is prone to whipping out the whip every once in a while, Franziska is noticeably far kinder and less arrogant and aloof in the fanfic.
- Villainous Breakdown: As Addie exorcises her grandmother from Maya's body, she lets out a Big "NO!" as spirit energy crackles around her.
- Wham Line: During the second trial, Pearl has an idea on who else was involved in the murder, and decides on this.Pearl: ...I think I should channel Morgan.
