Skylanders: Return to the Ruins is a Skylanders fanfic hosted on Archive of Our Own, penned by NoonboryKedabory. It began publication on September 18th, 2022.

The fic takes the cast back to the ruins where the first game took place, and where a new evil scheme is brewing. Along with the Skylanders, Ace Pilot Flynn, cool-headed Cali, book-smart Hugo, inventor Mags, and a mysterious troll named Crestfeather battle Kaos' forces of darkness.

Outside of this fic, Crestfeather has made a guest appearance in Kedabory's Muppet Mania.

• Quizzical Tilt: In Chapter 2, Spyro cocks his head in confusion/curiosity when he finds an abandoned railway in the Chompy Caverns.
• Papa Wolf: In Chapter 3, Buzz dives to save Flynn from a bolt of lightning.
• Posthumous Character: Chapter 3 mentions at least four deaths in a war from fifteen years ago; Tristbite, Bluestone, Crestfeather, and Glumshanks' unnamed mother. However, it is partially subverted in the next chapter when Crestfeather is revealed to be alive.
• Production Foreshadowing: This story was foreshadowed by a chapter of Shining and Sweet posted about two weeks prior, where a character had a key chain of Stealth Elf.
• Punny Name: Grease Ire = grease fire (he's a Fire Skylander) + ire (he has anger issues).
• Second Episode Introduction: Hugo, a member of the primary cast, isn't introduced until Chapter 2.
