Fanfic / Senki Zesshou Symphogear: WXD Unlimited

Go To

With Shem-Ha's defeat and the Curse of Balal finally broken, the chance for a hopeful future seems bright for mankind. However, the shadow of another divine being, one from another world, looms across the horizon, threatening the hard earned future of humanity. As the encore begins, a new song shall arise.

Senki Zesshou Symphogear: WXD Unlimited by Rigged Bomb is a crossover between Worm and Symphogear.

Do know that there will be Late Arrival Spoilers for Symphogear and Worm.

Senki Zesshou Symphogear: WXD Unlimited provides examples of:

  • All There in the Manual: There is a spoiler-filled updating timeline that shows the events that have happened both before and during the story.
  • Alternate Universe: What Earth Bet, the world where the events of Worm happen, is to Earth Song, the world where the canon events of Symphogear has happened.
  • Apocalypse How: As this work goes with the logic that there was only one dimension where the Noise came from, that dimension's destruction at the end of Symphogear's 2nd season was a Multiversal Species Extinction example for the Noise as a whole. It's mentioned in the Earth Bet timeline that the Noise suddenly disappeared.
  • Badass Normal: Genjuro is as strong and normal as ever, much to the PRT's disbelief.
  • Berserk Button: Messing with the moon appears to be this for Scion, a fact which String Theory learned the hard way. Anyone who has seen the final season of Symphogear should have a pretty good idea why that is.
  • Death by Adaptation: Fudo Kazanari's Earth Bet counterpart was killed when he tried to fight against Leviathan in Kyushu. On Earth Song, he survived past the Shem-Ha crisis and was sentenced to life in prison for his role in it.
  • Defeating the Undefeatable: Earth Bet Genjuro went one-on-one with Lung and actually beat the Dragon of Kyushu to within an inch of his life.
  • Fighting from the Inside: Strangely, Annette Hebert somehow survived having her consciousness from being completely subsumed by Fine, causing Fine to have to fight off attempts from her to regain control of their body. Though Fine did eventually win the fight for control, Annette still subconsciously influences Fine's actions at times.
  • For Want Of A Nail: There are several changes to Earth Bet due to the involvement of Symphogear:
    • Leviathan sunk Japan, causing Kadingir, Durandal, and Gungnir to be lost and both Yatsuhiro and Fudo Kazanari dying, with Fudo dying fighting Leviathan.
    • Ryoko died after getting caught in Leviathan's attack and Fine ended up reincarnating into a new vessel at the FIS facility who subsequently ended up dying when the Nephilim went berserk.
    • Maria ended up sacrificing herself to stop the Nephilim, meaning Serena is still alive.
    • The Nephilim's rampage also ended up claiming Shirabe's life during the incident, which consequently causes Kirika to commit suicide a few days later by overdosing herself on LiNKER.
    • Fine then reincarnated into Annette Hebert, vanishing after Faking the Dead with a car accident, but not before giving Taylor her Symphogear.
    • Genjuro saves Riley from Jack Slash, killing Jack in the process and causing the Slaughterhouse Nine to dissolve. He also saves Chris while in Val Verde, and adopts the two of them along with Tsubasa.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: No one in FIS, not even Fine, likes Dr. Ver and want very little to do with him.
  • Gambit Pileup: There are multiple factions that are implementing their plans for Earth Bet and are willing to use one another and others for their goals:
    • Cauldron is seeking a way to kill Scion.
    • Fine wants Scion dead and the Curse of Balal gone.
    • Carol seeks to destroy the miracles of the world.
    • The Illuminati seek to remake the world.
  • Happily Adopted: This is Riley's situation shortly after getting adopted by Genjuro. Also, Tsubasa and Chris to a similar extent.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • Serena being alive while Maria is dead in Earth Bet is similar to what happened during XDU's "Innocent Sister" event.
      • While it might not have been intentional, because Serena wasn't cryogenically frozen in this continuity, she looks similar to her Alternate Self from the "Stand up! Girl!" event.
    • Canary's opening dialogue for her concert has her saying the opening line of Synchrogazer, the OP of the 1st season.
      "Listen to my song!"
    • Taylor's first (proper) transformation (helping a young girl while being surrounded by Noise/Alca-Noise) is similar to Hibiki's first transformation.
    • Earth Bet Chris and Tsubasa are described as looking and acting like the versions of them that appear during XDU's "BAYONET CHARGE" event.
    • Genjuro sings the theme to Police Story while training with the Wards as he did in episode 9 of G. This time it's Vista who sings along with him.
    • Riley's reaction to seeing how much of a mess Tsubasa's room is matches Levi's reaction to seeing Tsubasa's room during XDU's Attack on Titan collaboration event.
  • "Not So Different" Remark: Fine made a smug note during her conversation with Cauldron about how both of their plans have an end-goal that involves them ruling over the vestiges of humanity.
  • Pile Bunker: Similar to Hibiki, Taylor can turn her Armed Gear into one to add more force into her strikes.
  • Poke in the Third Eye: Tattletale's power is unable to get any sort of reading from the Alca-Noise, and receives massive headaches when trying to read either of the Symphogear users.
  • Rocket-Powered Weapon: Taylor's Boddhisatva Pathway attack has her activate a built-in rocket mechanism at the back end of her staff to increase the speed and force of her charge.
  • Shout-Out:
  • Villain Team-Up: Both Cauldron and Fine are working together to kill Scion, but neither side trusts the other and both are ready to turn on the other at the first opportunity.
  • World's Strongest Man: Earth Bet Genjuro is arguably the strongest base human on Earth Bet, outright killing Jack Slash and beating Lung to within an inch of his life.
