Princess of Wales: A Memoir of the Second World War and Origin of Ship Spirits

The Story is framed as a memoir written by HMS Prince of Wales and tells of her experiences during World War 2. First as a steel hull, and later as a Shipgirl.
This work provides examples of:
- Deliberate Values Dissonance: 1940s-typical attitudes towards ethnicity are referenced a few times
- Epic Ship-on-Ship Action: Since the protagonist of the story is the spirit of a battleship serving in World War 2, epic naval battles are bound to happen.
- Friendly Enemy: Repulse and Wales have a rather friendly exchange with Kongou when they encounter each other during the Battle of the Java Sea
- Fun with Acronyms: The Royal Navy's official designation for shipgrils ends up being "Special Heavy Infantry Personnel"
- Immune to Bullets: Even a destroyer shipgirl can easily shrug off small arms fire
- I Surrender, Suckers: Just like in Real Life, the IJA is portrayed as being rather fond of this tactic.
- Made of Iron: Wales in particular and all of the shipgirls in general. Small arms fire isn't going to hurt them. You need to use naval rifles, torpedoes, and/or large bombs to injure them. A direct hit to the face by a 16"AP shell won't stop Wales.
- A Mother to her Girls: Wales to the point of teased about being "such a Momboat" at several occasions
- Outside-Context Problem: The appearance of shipgirs becomes this for the second world war
- Shellshocked Veteran: Wales recognizes herself and several others exibiting early smptoms of PTSD
- Trapped Behind Enemy Lines: Happens briefly to Wales and Repulse after the battle of the Java Sea when they go on land to escape the persuing IJN fleet
- War Is Hell: The Pacific Theater is not a nice place to be.
