Pokemon: Back to Basics (Fixed) is a Pokemon fanfiction by marioluigifan05. It can basically be summed up as a nostalgia trip for the original series (that is, until characters and Pokemon from newer generations come in).
Summary: After losing to Virgil in the Unova League, Ash goes back to Kanto, where another chance of being a Pokemon Master awaits him. Together with Brock and Misty, he will conquer every obstacle, both familiar and unknown, that gets in the way of his dream! ***WARNING: GEN 6 SPOILERS!***

- Closing Credits: At the end of most chapters, there's a list of voice actors who voiced the characters. The 4Kids cast and the TP Ci cast who don't have 4Kids voices are credited.
- Curb-Stomp Battle: Rocko and Misty to Paul in three-on-three battles.
- Heroic BSoD: After Ash and Yvonne fight over a Zangoose after saving it from a Seviper swarm, they take it to the Pokemon Center. Later, Ash finds out that it was too late, and has one of these.

Hilarious in Hindsight: "GOTTA CATCH EM ALL!" (with three ~ symbols on each side) was this story's scene split before TP Ci brought back the slogan for Gen VI.- Yvonne was a companion of the group before any details of the XY anime were leaked. XY 037's Mirror Serena is a bit like Yvonne.
- Never Trust a Trailer: The summary implies he travels together with Brock and Misty, but a few chapters later, Yvonne (based on game Serena, not the anime version) joins the group as a fourth member.
- Worf Effect: Paul is worfed for comedic effect.
