The Outrage
is a fanfiction written by SisterDarlink taking place in the Plants vs. Zombies universe published on Wattpad. It contains three chapters, explaining the abusive nature of Dr. Zomboss after repeated failures to defeat Crazy Dave. As the zombies fed up with his abuse, a Foot Soldier brutally killed him for his actions, leaving the undeads free of his abusive control.

- Adaptation Name Change: James Edgar is what this version of Dr. Zomboss known at first.
- Adaptational Villainy: Dr. Zomboss, who is much worse due to him resorting his lengths to abuse his undead minions, having no qualms on killing his three innocent zombies brutally, and sadistically torturing his minions who defied his orders.
- Bad Boss: Dr. Zomboss himself, once again, showing no mercy when his minions repetitively failed him.
- Bitter Sweet Ending: The zombies are no longer portrayed to be the same in this fic, after Zomboss' death, they went rogue, plus the battle between Plants and Zombies will never be the same.
- Darker and Edgier: Of course, the narrative itself isn't any more light hearted, multiplying Zomboss' abusive nature by hundred.
- Death by Adaptation:
- Nigel, Tugboat, and Frogpantz unfortunately died in this fic, whereas the comics still have them alive and well.
- Dr. Zomboss, who is still alive and well in the original games, is killed for good in this fic.
- Evil Counterpart: Zomboss, who is opposite to Dave in every way. Dave is more caring to his plants, his niece, and Nate. Zomboss is completely opposite, as he is abusive and cold-blooded without a slice of guilt.
- Slave Collar: Zomboss used the collar hidden on every zombies to torture them when they defied his orders, sadistically chuckled over their pain.
- Rage Breaking Point: The Foot Soldier, who fed up with his abuse, brutally killing the Doctor for his crimes.
