Numberjacks Advanced
is a Numberjacks fanfiction first published on June 30, 2021, written by NoonboryKedabory. Initially hosted on FanFiction.Net, it is currently found on Archive of Our Own.
Set four years after the original series, the Numberjacks now have a new slew of Agents, as well as five Special Agents trained for specific missions, and with them, they are stronger than ever.
Tropes:
- Aloof Big Brother: Downplayed. While Six obviously loves his younger siblings very much, he is often too busy with his training to become a big Numberjack to spend time with them.
- Ascended Extra: Two, who was one of the rarest Numberjacks to see in the original series, has been promoted to the main cast.
- Canon Foreigner: In addition to the Special Agents, there's a new meanie duo themed around patterns called Art and Cecil. All are exclusive to this fic.
- Chekhov's Gun: In "Hit the Brooks", the episode starts with Four showing off a new invention; a pair of robot arms. Later in the episode, Three and Four use the robot arms to stealthily retrive a notebook without being seen.
- Dark Is Not Evil: The Stoic Special Agent Charlotte wears a black business dress, but she's unambiguously on the side of good. In her debut episode, she's contrasted by the white-clad meanie Numbertaker.
- Deadpan Snarker: Four and Five show shades of this.
- Embarrassing Nickname: Charlotte expresses dislike in the nickname "Lottie".
- Heroes Love Dogs: The first time that the normally-serious Charlotte smiles is when petting Mitzy the dog.
- Heroic Dog: The Numberjacks are allied with a stray dog named Mitzy, who helps out with their missions by acting as a distraction to the meanies.
- Keet: Two has picked up on Three's energy and enthusiasm.
- Named by the Adaptation: The surname of the family who owns the sofa is Davidson in this fic. This makes the girl in the family Holly Davidson.
- Pink Means Feminine: Special Agent Mia always wears a pink blouse and pink bows.
- Remember the New Guy?: Though Art and Cecil first appear in Chapter 2, their dialogue indicates they've faced off against the Numberjacks before.
- Shout-Out: The first chapter is titled "The Fours Awaken".
- Theme Naming: Jasper the cat is joined by a new kitten named Peridot. Both jasper and peridots are a type of gemstone.note
