This fanfic contains examples of:
- Action Prologue: The fic starts with Lori and Leni fighting a gang of criminals in Royal Woods, with Ace Savvy soon joining them.
- Adapted Out: Sergio does not exist among the Casagrandes in this universe. According to
Word of God, this is because he doesn't like him. - Big Bad: La Cobra, the leader of a vicious gang in Great Lakes City.
- Canon Character All Along: During her time in Great Lakes City, Lori is assisted by two local heroes named La Falcon and La Tomenta. It's later revealed that these are this universe's versions of Bobby and Ronnie Anne respectively.
- Dark and Troubled Past: This fic reveals that Lori and Leni lost their adoptive parents and were only saved thanks to Ace Savvy, which is what inspired them to become heroes.
- Heroic Fatigue: Lori is exhausted at this time from the constant patrolling and stopping of crimes she feels she needs to do. Lincoln and Leni tell her to take some rest, but she is being put under even more stress than either of them realize.
- Hero Insurance: When Nova arrives in Great Lakes, she doesn't have insurance for when superheroes cause damage. She ends up nearly having to pay until La Falcon helps her by using his insurance.
- Heroism Won't Pay the Bills: This is a major plot point in the story. Despite being a hero, Lori is having trouble paying for anything, as apparently in Royal Woods specifically, heroes don't make a lot of money. Lori and Leni were initially being supported by Spade, but once he died, the checks stopped coming. This is the main thing that is making Lori consider moving out.
- The Reveal: The Casangrandes family in this universe are a superhero family, and La Falcon and La Tomenta are Bobby and Ronnie Anne, respectively.
- Vacation Episode: The fic is kicked off by Lori taking a vacation to Great Lakes City, though she is considering going there permanently.
