"After defeating the demented Cletus Kasady and Carnage, Eddie Brock and his companion Venom were on the run from the police watching Spanish soap opera when the anti-heroic symbiote decided to share knowledge with Eddie, only for them to be suck into a universe filled with heroes, super powers and especially villains for the Lethal Protector to feast upon..."
Story Summary

My Venom Academia: Symbiote's Justice is a Crossover Fic between My Hero Academia and Venom (2018) and its sequel Venom: Let There Be Carnage written by Fanfiction.net writer UltimateDemonBeast65. The fic serves as an alternate ending to the post-credit scene of the second film where instead of Eddie Brock and Venom being brought into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the two are instead sent into the world of My Hero Academia, a place where super-powers are the majority and the Lethal Protector is no longer the biggest baddest thing on the block.

The fic starts off during the Vs. Hero Killer Arc and then serves as a re-imagining of canon events with the inclusion of Eddie and Venom as the protagonists adjusting to this new setting while also trying to find a way back to their universe.

My Venom Academia: Symbiote's Justice contains examples of:

  • Adaptational Badass:
    • Venom in the films is the epitome of Weak, but Skilled: Though Venom is physically stronger and tougher in terms of human standards, capable of effortlessly defeating an entire platoon of SWAT officers and overpowering criminals with ease, he is ultimately outclassed by superior symbiotes like Riot and Carnage, especially with creating complex weapons and shapes, leading to Venom and Eddie defeating the two via outsmarting them or using the situation to their advantage. In the fic, Venom's powers are specifically stated to be rapidly growing due to entering another universe as well as from eating Carnage in the second film, leading them to be not only strong enough to kill Nomus with brute strength alone but come the Forest Training Arc took out multiple members of the Vanguard Action Squad alone and even overpowers and kills Muscular. Though he was overpowered by her, Venom can trade blows with Carnage II and is strong enough to toss her around without much effort. Come the end of the Hideout Raid Arc, Venom can not only survive attacks from All For One but fought the Number 3 and future Number 2 Hero Hawks and would have most likely won had Sleeper not intervened.
    • Sleeper in the comics, though also an autonomous symbiote who doesn't need a host in both continuities, is still fairly young and lacks the experience of his parent and siblings, not to mention to gain a humanoid form has to still be bonded to a host (Though can lobotomize them to gain control of their body). In this fic, Sleeper is a seasoned warrior who has near-perfect control over his biomass to the point where he can gain a humanoid shape without a host. He could completely overwhelm Venom and Carnage II in battle, not to mention is powerful enough to summon a Necrosword, something that only the strongest of their species could do in the comics.
    • Toga and Carnage II are a zigzagged example, as technically this isn't the original but a sibling who took Carnage's name and possesses the same blood link that their comic book counterpart has with Cletus. Toga becomes a Symbiote host compared to her canon self who had to mainly had her blood-sucking Quirk and relied on stealth to take out her enemies, meanwhile Carnage II is far stronger than her predecessor, who can overpower a Venom who has gone through rapid evolution and even temporarily gain the upper hand against Sleeper due to the latter's lack of a host stunting his strength. Much like her father, Carnage II is capable of taking on Nomus without much effort if Garaki's tests are anything to go by.
    • Heavily implied with All For One, who returned from Knull's realm with a new outfit and more organic looking tendrils compared to his mechanical ones, as if to show that the King in Black empowered the Villain.
  • Adaptational Early Appearance:
    • Hawks, who in canon showed up during the Pro Hero Arc after becoming the Number 2 Hero, appears here during the Hideout Raid Arc to assist in fighting All For One.
    • Lady Nagant canonically appears later in the Tartarus Escapees Arc, breaking out of Tartarus and being hired by All For One to kill Midoriya. In this story, she appears after the Hideout Raid Arc and is offered to have her imprisonment lifted if she assassinates the Volcano Thieves for the Commission.
    • Gigantomachia appears before the raid in this story while in canon, Machia made his appearance after the Shie Hassaikai Raid Arc.
  • Adaptational Jerkass:
    • The Hero Public Safety Commission. While canonically they are indeed morally dubious adjudicators of Hero Society, the Commission primarily still handle their business in a professional and polite manner. In the fic however, the Commission show outright prejudice and intolerance towards Eddie and Venom's actions despite their good intentions and status as beings from another universe. When the Knights of the Cosmos attempt to forge an alliance with them, the Commission prioritizes demonizing Eddie and Venom over the threat of Knull's invasion, leading to Sleeper and the Klyntarian Collective chewing them out for focusing on their petty grudge over the possibility of multiversal destruction.
    • Overhaul, whose already a Hate Sink canonically. Though he was a smug and germaphobic sociopath, he at least genuinely care for his boss and was guided by a desire to repay him for taking Overhaul in as a child. Here however upon being faced with either joining All For One and facing annihilation, Overhaul kills his boss and mocks him for his naive and honourable nature, then subtly threatens to kill Chronostasis if he turns against him.
  • Alcohol-Induced Idiocy: During their investigation to find Knull's location, Volcano tells both Dusty Ash and Gust Boy that they cannot have any alcohol after the two got drunk on Oktoberfest and nearly blew up Brandenburg Gate. He agrees to allow them as long as he sets a limit.
  • Alternate Universe Fic: Or rather "Alternate Multiverse Fic", as the story establishes that the My Hero Academia universe and Sony's Spider-Man universe are within the multiversal cosmology of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, therefore making the events within each continuities indirectly connected to one another.
  • Big Bad: All For One takes center stage as the primary antagonist of the story, though he is merely The Dragon to Knull.
  • Both Sides Have a Point:
    • Eddie/Venom and the Commission/law enforcement. It is most definitely true that Eddie and Venom have committed two acts of murder and several acts of illegal Hero work without a license, overall disregarding the rules they have set to keep people safe. However Eddie and Venom have pointed out that not only will Muscular not be missed by anyone, but that by killing him they have saved countless lives in the future, which makes them sound even more in the right when in later chapters of the manga, Muscular breaks out of Tartarus and goes on a rampage that claims many innocent lives.
    • Toga and Carnage II in Chapter 14. On one hand, Toga is completely in the right to be upset over Carnage breaking their promise and forcibly taking over her body to abandon the League of Villains in their time of need, but on the other hand, Carnage is also right to accuse Toga of treating her like a weapon and putting her needs before hers.
  • The Dragon:
    • Tomura Shigaraki serves as this to his adoptive father and mentor All For One, though the latter is trying to get Shigaraki to become his own leader.
    • All For One ultimately ends up becoming this to Knull upon being marked as his Herald.
  • The Dreaded:
    • Venom after the Hosu incident becomes known online and in the media as a cannibalistic vigilante capable of taking down multiple Nomus singlehandedly, causing the Hero Public Safety Commission and League of Villains to see him and Eddie as a threat to Hero society/their plans. They are referred to as "The Hosu Vigilante" by the media or "Lethal Protector" if their target knows his name and origins.
    • Carnage II is this to Eddie and Venom, who know just how dangerous red symbiotes are due to fighting and defeating the first Carnage. This extends to even some of the League of Villains members and eventually the authorities, unsettled by how unhinged the psychotic alien is.
    • All For One as per usual, with weak-willed or inexperienced people feeling a deathly presence enveloped their mind or even hallucinate their deaths. Even Sleeper and Carnage of all beings are nervous around this Villain.
    • Knull however is the biggest example. Known by various names such as King in Black, Living Abyss, Forger of Darkness or just God of the Symbiotes, Knull is the void personified and completely embodies dread and despair. Even All For One, whose very presence can create feelings of death in people's minds, was overwhelmed and barely able to withstand the intensity of Knull's visage. Sleeper and the entire Klyntarian Collective were so scared of the notion that Knull could return was enough for them to try and forge an alliance with the Hero Association despite usually not interfering directly in planetary affairs.
  • Eviler than Thou:
    • Kai Chisaki's plan was to use Eri's Quirk and DNA to create a Quirk-destroying drug to effectively purge all Quirks from the world, allowing the Yakuza to become the powerful syndicate it once was before the Age of Heroes. All For One on the other hand wants to basically become the antithesis to all things good and is grooming Shigaraki into a new vessel for his power and consciousness. Suffice to say, All For One strongarms Chisaki into giving up on his plans for the sake of survival.
    • However in comparison to both Villains, Knull on the other hand is an Omnicidal Maniac who wants to return the Multiverse to nothing, simply because he despises creation for existing.
  • From Bad to Worse: Any time the characters in this story attempt to try and fix or resolve things, the situation become even worse. All-Might is robbed of his victory over All For One due to Knull's machinations, causing him to not only retire in disgrace but also triggers the public's disillusionment of Hero Society much earlier than in canon. All For One is free, he becomes the Herald of Knull, who poses the greatest threat out of any being in the Multiverse, and forms an alliance with the Shie Hassaikai, leading to Overhaul killing his master in paranoia. Then if that's not enough, Toga and Carnage start to pick off Hero School students, further increasing the fear and panic in the public and leading to the deaths of several highly profiled students. The situation however gets only more dire when Venom, Sleeper and Nagant fail to stop the Volcano Thieves from retrieving the Grendel, handing it over to All For One who is in the process of reviving it.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: Knull, the King in Black and God of the Symbiotes. He created the Klyntarians to serve as an invasive species that would help him conquer reality and return it to nothingness, only to be betrayed and imprisoned by his creations, ultimately leading to the formation of the Knights of the Cosmos and indirectly allowing All For One to access the Symbiote Hive Mind, which Knull used to pull All For One into his realm in order to make a deal with him.
  • Mr. Fanservice: Eddie himself is a downplayed example. While not a muscular hunk like his comic book counterpart, Eddie here is attractive enough that some of the female students at U.A. admire his looks, Ashido and Hagakure included.
  • Ms. Fanservice:
    • Thundermane is a more modest example, but the story describes her physique and clothes in detail and Eddie can't help but stare at her when they encounter one another at the mall. Her official design by Felipe Kim (See the Characters page and Thundermane's folder) shows off her toned body, bust and curves.
    • Dusty Ash on the other hand plays it straight, being a Femme Fatale archetype whose costume is mainly just a sports bra, panties and belts which shows off her skin and cleavage perfectly.
    • Camie Utsushimi as per canon, however we never see her alive, and only as one of Toga's transformations which she uses to make Yaorashi drop his guard so she can kill him.
  • Noodle Incident: During their mission, Volcano initially refuses to let Dusty Ash and Gust Boy have alcohol after their mission in Berlin on Oktoberfest had both of them get very drunk and nearly blow up Brandenburg Gate.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech:
    • During the Forest Training Arc, Eddie gives one to Kota after Midoriya is unsuccessful in getting him to open up with empathy and attempts to convince him that Quirks aren't bad, leaving the Symbiote host to give the kid a harsh but much needed wakeup call.
Eddie: "I think that's enough, kid, he doesn't want to hear your story. Isn't that right, Kota? You heard enough sob stories as it is and heard so many times how your parents were brave and died honourably-"
Kota: "Will you two just leave me alone already?! GO AWAY!"
      Midoriya: "I'm sorry, I guess I-"
Eddie: "Midoriya, don't apologize to this little punk. You know, kid, you're not exactly wrong, all this talk of Heroes and Villains and powers, it all sounds so ridiculous, doesn't it? And yet it's nothing like the romanticized tales you'd hear growing up, it's brutal and cruel."
Kota: "Are you deaf? I told you-"
Eddie: "No, the grown ups are talking now, kid! So listen up. You hate Quirks and anything that's related to them because in your mind, it's what took your parents away, and if this world was just full of normal Quirkless people then they'd be alive and you wouldn't be alone up in this cave hiding from the people who still care about you."
Kota: "You don't know anything, so just shut up!"
Eddie: "I know you stare at the world with eyes clouded by hatred, and that all you want to do deep down is find some way to just smash and break things, and maybe even get revenge on the bastard who killed your parents."
      Kota: "Stop talking, you freak!"
Eddie: "And there you go, deflecting and insulting me and everyone else just because you can't love yourself, that you hate everyone and everything, but especially you hate what you are, the son of Heroes."
(Kota tries to punch Eddie in the groin similar to what he did to Midoriya, but Venom creates a tendril out of Eddie's body and wraps it around Kota's arm.)
      Kota: "Let me go!"
Midoriya: "Eddie, what are you doing-" (Venom silences Midoriya with a Death Glare)
Eddie: "I'm sorry for your loss, I know what you're going through, they were so brave and so strong", no doubt people have fed you those lines to death now, but I'm not here to offer bullshit condolences, Kota, I'm here to actually talk to you, to make you realise that what you're doing right now is dangerous. You have so much hate and misery in your heart, so much pain, and that's going to grow and spread until you're nothing but a bad day away from making the worst mistake of your life. [...] Yes, I've done some things I'm not proud of, and I often wonder if I'll make up for the times I hurt people or disregard others' feelings and wellbeing. But I know wallowing around in spite and anger isn't going to fix anything. Stop trying to push people away, Mandalay cares about you and yet you act like such an ungrateful brat towards her. But I'm not you, Kota, I'm not going to make decisions for you, only you can decide what happens next."
    • Sleeper and the Klyntarian Collective give a few to the Hero Public Safety Commission for not treating the situation with Knull seriously enough and for singling out Eddie and Venom simply because of a petty grudge.
    • Toga and Carnage II give each other small but meaningful ones, with Toga calling out Carnage for taking control of her control without consent during the raid and attempting to abandon the League of Villains while Carnage calls out Toga for putting her choices first and treating the Blood Hunter like a slave or weapon rather than a living being.
  • What the Hell, Hero?:
    • Eddie gives one to Aizawa and the Wild Wild Pussycats after they throw Class 1-A off the side of a cliff, angrily pointing out that someone could have been hurt. Fortunately, the situation is resolved, as Mandalay assures Eddie that they wouldn't have used this much force if they didn't think the students would be ready for it.
    • Sleeper and later his superiors back on Klyntar-731 as mentioned above give ones to the Hero Public Safety Commission for their Jerkass behaviour towards Eddie and Venom as well as not taking the threat of Knull seriously.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: Stain, like in canon, wanting to cleanse the world of fake Heroes to create a stronger and just society. However he does not understand that some want to become Heroes in order to support people financially, still choosing to try and kill Thundermane even though her reasons for being a Hero are altruistic.
