Mortal Kombat 11 Character Banter
is a fanfiction and sequel to Mortal Kombat XL Character Banter by Snafu the Great. The fanfic follows the same plot as the first one, as in various characters from videogames, comics, and anime showing up in Mortal Kombat 11. As always, hilarity ensues.
This fanfic has the following tropes:
- A Goddess Am I: Storm, as she is a literal goddess.
- Affectionate Nickname: Cassie refers to Black Canary as 'Gram-Jam'.
- Amazon Chaser:
- In Storm's chapter, both Shao Kahn and Rain have the hots for said goddess.
- In Ryu's chapter, Shao Kahn desires Chun-Li.
- Anything but That!: Even Canary is horrified at the thought of Skarlet getting her hands on a Red Lantern Ring.
- Badass Family: Johnny and Sonya's parents, who turned out to be Batman and Catwoman for the former and Black Canary for the latter.
- Berserk Button:
- For Black Canary, it's either the Regime or anyone threatening her family.
- Threaten Ryu's wife is a good way of making him unleash the Satsui no Hado.
- Threatening T'Challa whenever Storm is around is a good way of getting blasted with lightning bolts.
- Threatening both Aphrodite and Atreus around Kratos will not end too well for his opponent.
- Bounty Hunter: In reference to Erron Black's intro in which he is going after a character's bounty. Both Kratos and Storm's bounties are a whopping $1 billion.
- Cool Old Lady: Black Canary.
- Curb-Stomp Battle: Canary, Sonya and Cassie vs. Superman and the Regime. The Regime gets blasted back by three Canary Crys from Canary, Sonya and Cassie.
- The Exiles: What the Insurgency Remnants (Batman, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Supergirl and Black Canary) are calling themselves after being forced to flee from their Earth.
- Dating Catwoman: In the past, Kratos had a fling with Skarlet. Even going as far as to have a threesome with both Skarlet and Aphrodite.
- For Want Of A Nail:
- In Canary's chapter, Blue Beetle betrays Batman and the Insurgency, forcing Batman and the surviving Insurgency to relocate to Earthrealm to avoid being captured and/or killed by Superman and the Regime.
- Also in Canary's chapter, Sonya used the Canary Cry on Sindel, saving the lives of most of Raiden's champions.
- Happily Married:
- Johnny and Sonya in Canary's banter.
- Ryu and Chun-Li.
- Black Panther and Storm.
- Subverted with Kratos and Aphrodite, as they're both longtime lovers.
- Make Me Wanna Shout: Black Canary. And since Sonya and Cassie are her daughter and granddaughter respectively, they've also inherited the Cry.
- Mistaken Identity: Spawn mistakens Storm for Wanda.
