Mixels: 3 Months Later
is a fanfiction written by Capitano Nox. The story began in July 2022 and is currently ongoing.
The story serves as a Fan Sequel to the animated TV series Mixels, being set 3 months after the cartoon's Grand Finale.
The story provides examples of:
- Adaptational Backstory Change: While in the original series King Nixel is, well, the king of the Nixels, here it's revealed from the very first chapter that the King Nixel seen in the show is actually Prince Nixel, who has been impersonating his own father (the real King Nixel) this whole time.
- Adaptation Expansion: The story explores things that the original series didn't and explains some things that weren't exactly explained, such as why in the series Gobba acts as the leader of his own tribe despite Jawg being the leader, or why Jamzy is the leader of his own tribe despite being a child.
- Big Bad: King Nixel (the real one) is the main antagonist of the story.
- Darker and Edgier: Despite serving as a sequel to the family-friendly Mixels, the story is much darker compared to the animated show, talking for example about a deadly drug.
- Drugs Are Bad: The main premise of the story is that a deadly drug known as "Super Mix" is circulating in Mixopolis, claiming various victims.
- Fan Sequel: The story is set 3 months after "Nixel, Nixel, Go Away", the last episode of the TV series.
- Fix Fic: Aside from serving as a Fan Sequel, the story also tries to give the franchise a better conclusion than the canonical one and overall tries to use a potential that was wasted in the cartoon.
- The Mafia: The Mixafia.
- Original Character: Aside from the canon characters, the story also uses some fanmade ones, such as Queen Nixel.
