混沌の戦い — Konton no Tatakai
is a Fate/stay night Alternate Universe Fic written by Melqart. The story expands on the Nasuverse as a whole while also going over Kiritsugu & Shirou's lives after the Fourth War, but with major differences. Currently only available in Spanish.
Konton No Tatakai provides examples of:
- Achievements in Ignorance: Waver states that Shirou generating lightning with the Sol Rune shouldn't have worked. He continuously manages to use it this way in spite of hearing this.
- Adaptation Expansion: The author is fond of using minor characters of the series and giving them expanded roles like the Master of Assassin for the Black Faction.
- Adaptation Origin Connection: Shirou meets Aro Myorenji (Pepe) while trying to learn Shugendo & ends up in the conflict that resulted in the destruction of his family.
- Bazett has a brief cameo in Waver's class as a student.
- Alternate Universe: The Fourth Grail War is shown to have happened differently from canon with Paracelsus being the Caster summoned by the Reiroukan family and the Archer being someone who uses an actual bow.
- Ambiguous Situation: The activation of Shirou's Crest is explained by Paracelsus as being due to either a large influc of mana or blood relation. This happened after he received a boost from Kohaku's synchronizer ability so it could be either.
- Be Careful What You Wish For: Miruko's demands for Kiichi to turn them into a genuine Tengu gets them dragged off to hell.
- Bilingual Bonus: The fic is written in Spanish, but can be translated with Google.
- Blow You Away: Kiichi Hogen's fan, which is used to defeat Kouma
- But for Me, It Was Tuesday: Kiritsugu's numerous assassinations comes back to bite him when a yakuza gang remembers him and try to take revenge starting the first conflict of the fanfic.
- The Cameo: Along with Adaptational Early Appearance, Several Type Moon characters: Arou Myorenji (Pepe from FGO), Kiara, Bazett, and even Ibaraki's Hand.
- Crash-Into Hello: How Shirou usually meets with Kohaku.
- Dragged Off to Hell: Miroku is sent through a gate to Hell after pissing off Kiichi.
- Exact Words: Kiichi explains that the ancient head of the Myorenji was able to become a Tengu due to the deal made, but it was only made for him not anyone else.
- Fling a Light into the Future: Paracelsus left a photonic crystal AI of himself to continue his work to make a cure for the Tohno family's demonic blood heritage.
- Foreshadowing: The organization has Kaburagi throw a type of magical projector into the Fuyuki River.
- Handicapped Badass: combined with Dented Iron, Kiritsugu.
- Ignorance Is Bliss: Averted. The doctor Kiritsugu meets early on tells him that this won't keep Shirou safe after learning that Shirou has a Magic Crest and Sword Element/Origin that would make other mages want to experiment on him.
- In Spite of a Nail: Although the Fourth Grail War was different the end result was about the same along with two occurrences as well.
- Gilles de Rais still appeared in spite of a different Caster being summoned and caused havoc.
- Gilgamesh also appeared, but there was mention of an Archer who actually used a bow.
- Internal Reveal: Taiga learns about the Moonlit World after being kidnapped alongside Shirou.
- Magical Eye: Wu Yi has 1 which gives him precognition while fighting Kiritsugu.
- Mythology Gag: All over the place in this fic.
- Early on Shirou & Kiritsugu visit the town where Tsukihime takes place and meet characters from the series.
- There are mentions of the Reiroukan, Sajyou, and other families from Fate Prototype as well as El-Melloi II Case Files/Adventures.
- The Haunted House from Fate/Hollow Ataraxia is the base of the master of Caster from the Fourth War.
- The yakuza from FGO feature as early antagonists in the first arcs.
- Power Copying: Shirou manages to use Ushiwakamaru's swordplay, alongside the True Name release Hoemaru as well as Shukichi against Kiichi
- Race Against the Clock: Shirou has around 3 years to improve his skills in magecraft to create an antidote to Kiritsugu's curse before it kills him.
- Shock and Awe: Shirou uses the Sol Rune to create a lightning sword.
- Spared by the Adaptation: Maiya was brought to a hospital by Saber though she is now in a coma.
- Teleportation: Kiichi is capable of this with Shukichi
- The Promise: Kiichi has Shirou make one to return in 10 years in exchange for the fire he needs.
- Unwitting Instigator of Doom: When Raiga brings Shirou on a hunting trip he ends up introducing mentioning his last name to Rin who mentions it while speaking with Kirei which lets him know that there is someone related to Kiritsugu.
- Was Once a Man: The Myorenji clan were transormed into Yokai, spider demons & Tengu. Subverted for Miroku who instigated it & was always a Jorogumo spider
- The Worf Effect: Aro Myorenji & Kouma are on the receiving end of Kiichi Hogen
- Would Hurt a Child: Kaburagi is perfectly willing to target kids for money.
- You Remind Me of X: Kiichi feels this way about Shirou when he uses Ushiwakamaru's weapon & fighting style.
