Fanfic / Izuku's Pet Noumu

Go To

What if Izuku had a real childhood friend who was actually a girl? What if that girl was unwillingly turned into a Noumu long before Izuku entered U.A. High School? What if Izuku was able to save her and somehow ended up having her as a "pet" after the USJ incident? Well, this fanfiction story explores that idea with lots of fluff.

Izuku's Pet Noumu is a My Hero Academia fanfic created by wmtay2 that involves Izuku Midoriya having a Childhood Friend beside Katsuki Bakugou who was kidnapped and turned into a Noumu by the League of Villains only to be found by him during the USJ Incident and subsequently rescued.

It can be found and read on both Fanfiction.Net here and on AO3 here

Izuku's Pet Noumu contains examples of:

  • Abusive Parents: Wankuro's parents abused her for being Quirkless and sold her to the League of Villains the first chance they got. Unsurprisingly, when Izuku and Inko investigate Wankuro's disappearance, they have her parents arrested for their crime.
  • Adaptational Badass: Izuku is one such example of this, having better control of One For All at the beginning than he did in canon.
  • Adaptational Jerkass: Downplayed with Katsuki, as he behaves similarly to canon, but this is more an example where Izuku breaks off his "friendship" and doesn't hide his troubled past with his bully from the others, so he reacts with hostility towards almost everyone. wmtay2 has endnotes on Chapter 13 about how it's less Katsuki being out of character, and more being stuck at his pre-character development phase.
  • Adaptational Heroism: A number of villains go against the League of Villains and even switch sides to join the heroes. Examples include Himiko Toga, Twice, Spinner, Mr. Compress, Shin Nemoto, Toya Setsuno, Yu Hojo, and Soramitsu Tabe.
  • Adaptational Species Change: Instead of being a normal person with a Quirk, Himiko Toga was transformed into a vampire-esque Nomu with additional Quirks, like Razor Hands.
  • Adaptational Relationship Overhaul: Due to Wankuro’s presence and later disappearance, Izuku had a true friend who helped him stand up to Katsuki. Because of that relationship, Izuku broke off his toxic relationship with Katsuki and just sees him as a bully. This also applies to the rest of Class 1-A, as they find out what a terrible person he is, so Katsuki effectively becomes the class outcast due to his own ego and horrible personality.
  • Adaptational Superpower Change: Izuku’s lineup for One for All’s other Quirks is somewhat different. While he still possesses Blackwhip and Float, he also has the quirks of Bio-Repair and Spirit Gunner instead of Smokescreen and Danger Sense. Additionally, Toga also has additional powers due to being a Nomu.
  • Badass Adorable: Wankuro was a girl transformed into a hellhound nomu powerful enough to kill All Might. She's also a fluffy doggy that enjoys cuddle piles with Izuku, Ochako, Tsuyu, Himiko, Rumi, and Melissa.
  • Butt-Monkey: Downplayed with Izuku, as he Grew a Spine and realized that his "friendship" with Katsuki was toxic and is no longer victim to his bullying, but he still gets embarrassed plenty of times with Wankuro being very affectionate.
  • Character Development: Minoru Mineta, of all people, becomes a Chivalrous Pervert after working to save Ningyou Bunraku, not only willing to behave courteously to her but to extend that same respect to the other nomu girls rescued.
  • Childhood Friend Romance: Izuku and Wankuro were childhood friends, and when they catch up years later, they not only restore their friendship but fall in love with each other.
  • Didn't See That Coming: The result of Izuku’s confession by way of Nemoto’s Confession Quirk. Not only is he completely honest and genuine in his desire to help others, but his darkest secret is his Porn Stash. This completely takes Nemoto off guard, because he was expecting someone just as apathetic or cruel as basically everyone else he’s used Confession on.
  • Death by Adaptation: Overhaul and All For One both suffer this fate.
  • Groin Attack: Monoma ends up being the unfortunate victim of a Super-Strength version of this during a training exercise. Thankfully, he was copying Tetsutetsu’s Quirk, so he isn’t neutered from the attack (which is discussed as a real possibility that could have happened).
  • Happily Adopted: A very unusual example, as she’s a teenager, but Wankuro is adopted by Inko Midoriya after the events of the USJ, technically making her Izuku’s stepsister. A more traditional form of this is Eri, as she also gets adopted by the Midoriyas after she is rescued.
  • Harem Genre: Unsurprisingly, seeing as wmtay2 is the author of Izuku's Harem Academia, albeit with a smaller harem consisting of Wankuro, Ochako, Tsuyu, Himiko, Rumi, and Melissa.
  • Not Blood Siblings: After the League of Villains' attack on the Unforeseen Simulation Joint, Wankuro is adopted by Inko to protect her from kidnapping attempts. Lampshaded by Hanta and Mina, in how the former sees the possibility of things getting spicy and the latter pushing Ochako to confess her feelings towards Izuku.
  • Original Character: Wankuro Nikaido is a Quirkless girl who befriended Izuku in childhood, replacing Katsuki after he started bullying him. When they reunite years later, Izuku becomes determined to rescue her from the League of Villains' control, and luckily, he succeeds.
    • Many more Noumu Girls come into play as the story progresses, all of them except Himiko Toga are OCs.
  • Porn Stash: Izuku's forced confession courtesy of Shin Nemoto has him reveal that he masturbates to risqué pictures of pro-heroines. The prose reveals that Inko found a secret stash of somewhat provocative pictures of Mandalay, Pixie-Bob, Ragdoll, Midnight, Mount Lady, and Mirko.
  • "Reason You Suck" Speech: What Shin Nemoto intended when he used his Quirk on Izuku to reveal his deepest thoughts and secrets. Nemoto EXPECTED that Izuku would have dark and twisted secrets that he could use to bring Izuku down….instead, Izuku’s deepest secrets are average things a hormonal teenager would do, and he is completely genuine with his resolve to help people.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Bakugo gets this NUMEROUS times for his dangerous and almost psychopathic behavior (being perfectly willing to kill some of the Nomu-Girls due to seeing them as villains rather than victims of twisted experimentation and abuse, outright laughing and deriving joy from Izuku being embarrassed by Nemoto’s force confession, and generally seeing himself as superior to everyone around him, just to name a few).
