- Abusive Mom: Just like in canon, Morgan was this to Iris and Dahlia, first using physical strain in an attempt to unlock their spiritual powers, before tossing them aside when they showed no sign of them. She also punished Pearl for speaking with Iris and seeks to mold her in the Kurain clan's heir by any means.
- Adaptation Amalgamation:
- The second case, Turnabout Family, contains elements from three cases: Turnabout Sisters, Reunion, and Turnabout; and Bridge to the Turnabout.
- The third case, Turnabout Crystal, contains elements from Turnabout Samurai and Turnabout Big Top, while taking a few characters from Recipe for Turnabout.
- Adaptational Badass: Iris is this due to being a defense attorney in this fanfiction.
- Adaptational Heroism: In canon, Furio Tigre was a loan-dealer for the Cadaverini family, who only dated Viola to utilize her in a ploy to escape the one million dollar debt grandfather after accidentally running into her with his scooter. Here, he was the one who helped her escape the Cadaverini family, and when he learned she was arrested for murder eventually agreed to help Iris clear Viola's name, even revealing an incident where he killed one of his "clients" when he couldn't pay a loan, which identifies the motive of the true killer.
- Adaptational Villainy:
- Maggey Byrde. Unlike in canon, Maggey is a sly, vicious woman who was in league with Morgan and was responsible for Diego's death. Subverted when she turned out to be Dahlia Hawthorne, who murdered the real Maggey Byrde and had her face surgically changed to look like Maggey in an attempt to start a new life.
- Penny Nichols is the culprit of Turnabout Crystal, albeit for a tragic reason. Her father was killed by an enforcer of the Cadaverini Family and blames Violet Shadow for it upon finding out she was Viola Cadaverini. She set up a trap to kill Viola, only to kill her idol Will Powers instead.
- Arc Villain: Each culprit serves as this to their respective cases.
- Turnabout Debut - Richard Wellington.
- Turnabout Family - Maggey Byrde/Dahlia Hawthorne and Morgan Fey.
- Turnabout Crystal - Penny Nichols.
- Cain and Abel: Iris is the Abel to Dahlia's Cain in this timeline after Dahlia framed her sister for Phoenix's death.
- Convicted by Public Opinion: After the reveal that actress Violet Shade is really ex-Mafia Princess Viola Cadaverini, the masses are convinced that she really did kill Will Powers.
- Death by Adaptation:
- Phoenix was killed years ago by Dahlia.
- Diego Armando is killed during an attempt to determine if Dahlia died.
- Maggey Byrde is murdered by Dahlia, who later took her place and pretended to be her in order to start a new life.
- Mimi Miney is the victim of the first case.
- Will Powers is the victim of the third case.
- A Father to His Men: Will Powers had this dynamic towards the actors under him, accepting Viola despite learning her connection to the Cadaverini family and preventing Celeste Starr from committing suicide and helping her escape from her abusive mother.
- For Want Of A Nail:
- In the first case, it is mentioned that Mimi Miney worked as a nurse at the Hotti Clinic rather than Turner Grey's clinic like in the canon games. As a result, her sister Ini is still alive and Turner Grey is on the run for the fatal malpractice he committed.
- Mia Fey is the one poisoned by Dahlia Hawthorne instead of Diego, making him The Mentor for Iris in the story.
- Without Phoenix, there was no one willing to take on Manfred von Karma to defend Miles Edgeworth, leading him to be arrested for Robert Hammond's death.
- Guilt by Association: The third case murder was a result of this. The true culprit saw her father died at the hands of a Cadaverini enforcer, and upon learning that Violet Shade was really Viola Cadaverini, plotted to kill her in revenge against the family. Unfortunately, Will Powers arrived in place of Viola, leading to her drop a headlight onto Will thinking he was Viola.
- Horrible Judge of Character:
- Ini Miney believes that Richard Wellington is a loving boyfriend when in fact he killed her sister and tried framing Ini for it.
- Maggey Byrde fell in love with Dahlia Hawthorne while the latter was in prison, costing Maggey her job as a prison guard and getting her killed by Dahlia as part of her Kill and Replace scheme.
- In Spite of a Nail: Farewell, My Turnabout still happens, albeit at a different time and with certain key players changed and added.
- Kill and Replace: Dahlia Hawthorne escaped from prison by killing Maggey Byrde and burning her body so the police would think it's Dahlia's then having her face surgically changed to look like Maggey's.
- Original Character: Celeste Starr, an actress who plays the main villain of Crystal Crusader Rose, an In-Universe Magical Girl series.
- Miscarriage of Justice: As a result of Phoenix's death, Miles Edgeworth is falsely convicted for Robert Hammond's death before the events of the story.
- Promotion to Parent: Following Morgan's arrest, Iris takes over as her sister Pearl's guardian.
- "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Maggey Byrde gives one to Iris in Part 9 of Turnabout Family over Iris' actions leading to Phoenix's death, calling her a coward whose inability to stand up to others causes the deaths of the people she cares about.
- The Rival: Franziska takes this role towards Iris during the second and third cases.
- Shout-Out:
- In Part 5 of Turnabout Family, after managing to extend the trial to another day, Franziska declares that she will defeat Iris, who will never rise from the ashes of her shame and humiliation.
- The Crystal Crusader Rose series can be seen as one to Sailor Moon. The third case, Turnabout Crystal, even references Sailor Moon Crystal.
- Spared By Adaptation:
- Mia Fey is still alive, albeit in a coma after being poisoned by Dahlia.
- Ini Miney is also still alive due to the car crash that would've caused her canon death not happening.
- Would Hurt a Child: Dahlia makes it clear to both Iris and Maya that she is willing to hurt Pearl just to make them suffer. It's only because of Shelly de Killer that she isn't able to because they need Pearl alive to make Iris defend Matt Engarde in the trial.
