Fredbear's Family Diner is a fanfic based on the Five Nights at Freddy's series that also implements Lovecraftian horror.
In it, the nameless narrator recounts his time as a former employee of the infamous Fredbear's Family Diner. During his time at the job, the business was in danger of shutting down due to a number of reasons the one prevalent being the lack of life coming from the main animatronics. However, fate would seem to have turned around for the doomed family establishment with the animatronics becoming new and improved much to the enjoyment of the young audience.
But it would appear that there was a dark secret behind Fredbear's success that could threaten the world itself.

The fic has examples of:
- Adaptational Villainy: Afton was already a vile bastard in canon, but at least he never wanted to bring about the apocalypse.
- And I Must Scream: Those children sacrificed to Shub-Niggurath either exist within the Outer God's body or are trapped in the animatronic suits.
- Body Horror: When the narrator first meets Afton, Afton possesses a skeletal appearance with paper-thin skin with his mouth hardly lining up to the words he was speaking. By the time that the Missing Children Incident occurs, Afton is reduced to a near-skeleton being no longer resembling a human. Even then, his bones were an even darker shade of purple.
- Driven to Madness: When Henry was taken to the backroom by Afron, whatever he had seen completely broke his mind and he never returned.
- Eldritch Abomination: Through the dark arts, William Afton had summoned Shub-Niggurath unto the mortal plane as a means of keeping Fredbear's up and running.
- Immortality Seeker: Afton developed the habit of consuming remnant himself in order to conquer death. However, the more he drank the substance, his body grew less organic with the added effect of him slowly dying.
- Human Sacrifice: William Afton had fed several children to the Black Goat of the Woods and harvested their condensed souls, applying the substance on the animatronics, entrapping their souls.
- Would Hurt a Child: William Afton, has always, is depicted as a serial child murderer. In this instance, he kills children as part of ritualistic sacrifices.
