When it comes time to send Harry Potter his letter to Hogwarts, it turns out that no one can trace him. Several years ago, Harry was taken in by Social Services and his guardians were arrested for child abuse. Since then, his whereabouts have been unknown.
While visiting another upcoming student, Hermione Granger, Professor McGonagall finds out that they adopted a magical child several years ago. This child's name is Lily Evans-Granger. It turns out that she's the child that McGonagall has been looking for.
Formerly Known As Harry Potter? is an AU where Harry has been adopted by the Grangers and has transitioned into living as a girl, set prior to Lily joining Hogwarts.
