Webcomic / Here by Accident, Staying on Purpose

Go To

Here by Accident, Staying on Purpose (also known as Trans Girl Timmy Turner) is a fan-comic based off of The Fairly OddParents!. The comic reinterprets Timmy as a transgender woman.

Years after the series ends, Trixie decides to visit her childhood acquaintance Timmy. The two reminisce about when they hung out together in "The Boy That Would Be Queen". Timmy comes out as trans to her and the two soon become close.

Here by Accident, Staying on Purpose is an AU on the cartoon. Fairy Godparents are fictional and, as a result, Timmy dressed up as a girl for different reasons than in canon. It's implied that it was more than just a few times.

The title from the comic stems from the episode that inspired it, "The Boy Who Would Be Queen". In it, Timmy finds Trixie crossdressing at a comic book store. Trixie tells Timmy that she's in "[t]here by accident".

The comic was originally a short oneshot comic before being expanded. The Tumblr blog that hosts the comic can be seen here.

Here by Accident, Staying on Purpose provides examples of:

  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Micky was Chloe's perfectly ordinary babysitter, and him being a Babysitter from Hell was just exaggeration for one of Chloe's comics.
  • Adaptational Gender Identity:
    • In canon, Timmy is presumably a cisgender boy. Here by Accident has him transition into a woman in adulthood, taking on the name "Chloe".
    • In canon, Vicky was a cisgender teenager girl. Here by Accident has her already transitioned by the present, and is now a transgender man named "Micky".
  • Adaptational Mundanity: Here By Accident, Staying On Purpose is a comic based off The Fairly Oddparents. Timmy, now known as "Chloe", never had Fairy Oddparents.
  • Ambiguous Situation: It's vague whether Chloe never had godparents or whether she's just forgotten about them.
  • Alternate Universe Fic: Timmy/Chloe didn't really have fairy godparents. She's also a trans woman in this comic.
  • Ambiguous Gender Identity: Trixie might be transmasculine. As a kid, she'd play a "game" with Chloe where they'd pretend to be the opposite sex while hanging out together. As an adult, Trixie dresses in an androgynous manner and has implications of gender dysphoria.
  • Cast Full of Gay: Trixie and Veronica are a couple, Timmy is a trans woman named Chloe (who is likely attracted to women), and Vicky is a trans man named Micky.
  • Childhood Friends: Downplayed with Trixie and Chloe. They weren't close as kids but they hanged out. As adults they reunite and become close.
  • Childhood Friend Romance: Trixie and Veronica got together in adulthood.
  • Most Writers Are Writers: As a child, Chloe used to draw comics about having two fairy godparents.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • Chloe's pet dog is Sparky, Timmy's actual dog he got later, though this Sparky isn't magic.
    • Chloe's chosen name is a reference to the character Chloe, introduced in the final season of the show.
