Two mana transfer scene are present in the one on Archive Of Our Own, but not the one on Fanfiction.
The story takes place in Fuyuki in 2004, the Fifth Holy Grail War. Most of the participants are the same, with the exception of a high school student named Akiko Hashimoto serving as Master for the prototype of the Lancer Servant, Cú Chulainn.
She is a 17-year-old who attends Homurahara Academy. She is a survivor of the massive fire from 10 years ago that took the lives of both of her parents.
Akiko is an honor's student that tends to be a loner. She is exceptionally skilled in the use of martial arts. While not on the same level as Rin, she's skilled enough in magecraft to defend herself against most other mages.
Personality-wise, she can come off as harsh and abrasive. Over time, she can start to warm up to someone. But she never fails to get flustered if someone attempts to say what she's really feeling and tends to keep them to herself. While not as easy to rile up as Lancer, she also has a short fuse, best shown when Gilgamesh becomes Rin's Servant.

- Abhorrent Admirer: Gilgamesh is one towards Saber. This is called out by Rin.Rin: Are you Saber's stalker or something? Talk about creepy!
- Abnormal Ammo: Despite his class, Gilgamesh fires bladed weapons and not arrows. Archer also qualifies since he rarely fires actual arrows.
- Always a Bigger Fish: At first, it appears as if Kirei and Gilgamesh are the final villains, but it turns out to be Illya, who's possessed by Angra Mainyu.
- "Be Quiet!" Nudge: Played for Laughs. Saber stepped on Lancer's foot when it's clear a dirty thought just went through his head. He got the hint.Taiga: [On the phone] Tell Akiko that even though she's here sick, I'm gonna trust that she won't do anything crazy with Archer or Lancer!Archer almost choked on the tea he was drinking and Lancer raised an eyebrow, grinning as he stared at the door leading out to the hall. Saber stepped on his foot.Lancer: Yow!Saber: Don't even think about it, you perverted creep!
- Berserk Button: Do not call Taiga a tiger.
- Lancer almost made this mistake, but Akiko put her hand over his mouth in time.
Akiko: Don't use that word around her! It's taboo!- Also, if you value your life, you won't call Lancer a dog.
- Big Eater: Taiga implies this about Saber.Taiga: But Sakura! I was the one who asked you to cook more food tonight! I keep wanting seconds, but Saber cleans out the bowls and plates of food before I can get to them!
- Brutal Honesty: Lancer calls Gilgamesh 'King of Douchebags' with the mentioned Servant right there. Saber has to hold Gilgamesh back.
- Character Catchphrase: Gilgamesh always addresses people as "Mongrel".
- Double Entendre: Lancer has done this to Akiko.Lancer: What a bummer. I'd really like ya ridin' me!
- Everyone Can See It: Everyone can tell Akiko and Lancer have feelings for one another. Taiga picks up on it almost immediately and lays down the law the night the two show up at the Emiya household.
- Extreme Doormat: Shirou never turns any requests for help down, which leads him to being taken advantage of. Taiga, Rin, and Lancer point this out.Taiga: [On the phone]You're Mr. Never Turns Anyone Down.Rin: [whispers so Taiga won't hear]You stay after school to help someone, not to mention what you were doing the day you got sucked into this.Lancer: They do have a point. If ya hadn't been helpin' someone the day Archer an' I fought, I wouldn't have hunted ya down an' tried to kill ya.
- Familiar: All the Servants are classified as one.
- Hate at First Sight: After their first encounter, Archer and Lancer hate each other. Lancer points his resentment out to Akiko.Lancer: He pisses me off by just breathin. I dunno what it is, but he just rubs me the wrong way.
- Ineffectual Death Threats: Lancer said he'll kill Saber the next time they meet. But the next time they meet, it's to form an alliance.
- The Mourning After: In the Normal Ending, Akiko never gets over Lancer's death. Regardless, she still moves through life just the same as before, just without joy.
- Multiple Endings: Like the Fate/stay night visual novel this story has two endings and some Dead and Bad Ends in the story itself.
- Please Get Off Me: Lancer's body landed on top of Saber's while they were fighting Berserker. But that's all.

- Semi-Divine: Lancer, Berserker, and Gilgamesh are demigods.
- Shipper on Deck: It was actually Archer. He calls Akiko and Lancer hooking up.Archer: He's so going to hit that.
- Supernatural Gold Eyes: These are sometimes had by a Servant, a spiritual being. Lancer gains them after he becomes an Alter
- He never becomes corrupted, so Berserker's gold eyes displays he's a spiritual being. But they turn red when he fights.
- Violently Protective Girlfriend: Don't hurt or insult Lancer when Akiko's there unless you're looking to send her into a rage.
