Faerie Tales is a Fusion Fic, Rise of the Brave Tangled Dragons fanfic
written by cjupsher (also known for his superhero-based series and Star Wars series).
A young fairy Princess thinks she may finally be falling in love. But it's with someone she's never met. Someone who makes her arrows.
A young faye man has fallen for a Princess, but believes he won't ever win her heart. So he makes her arrows, all so he can see her smile.
Faerie Tales provides examples of:
- The Beautiful Elite: The Fey - by the very nature of their society - hold physical beauty to a high standard. Even the common folk reject Hiccup purely for his bad leg.
- Dark and Troubled Past: When questioned, Hiccup explained how he lost his leg saving a village of light faye from an invading group of goblins, only to be given grief by his tribe for it. He left shortly therafter.
- Depraved Bisexual: Once Merida finds out how long Hiccup has gone without sex, she immediately tries to strip him naked. Did I forget to mention that she has sex with Rapunzel regularly?
- Draconic Humanoid: Hiccup is part of a Northern breed of Fey, notable for their dragon-characteristics.
- Dragon Ancestry: The Gentry present in the harsh North all possess dragon-traits, explained by the fact they all possess dragons blood within their veins.
- Europeans Are Kinky: The Gentry have a very loose opinion on sex. Open-mouth kissing (even between two of the same gender) is considered a casual greeting between platonic friends and Merida was shocked at the very idea that Hiccup has not had sex for over 150 years.
- Friends with Benefits: Merida and Rapunzel
- Grim Up North: Implied by Hiccup, seeing as he is from there.
- Half-Human Hybrid: Merida's father was human.
- Open-Minded Parent: A mild example. Elinor caught on that Merida has a secret suitor - though still completely unaware as to who - and adjusted the celebration's plans to accommodate him.
- Our Fairies Are Different: Every character in the fanfic are some kind of breed of fairy. They also go by titles such as "fey", "gentry" and "sidhe".
- Shipper on Deck: Despite clearly having a thing for Merida sexually, Rapunzel is more than happy to help her relationship with Hiccup along.
- Stalker with a Crush: Hiccup did this with Merida. He did not get her attention until he crafts arrows for her.
