Before the High School Life of Mutual Killing. Before The Biggest, Most Awful, Most Tragic Event in Human History. Before The Tragedy of Hope's Peak Academy. Strange eggs appeared in front of certain children around the world, changing their destinies forever. How will this change affect the events that were meant to happen?

I suppose we'll find out, won't we?

DigiXDangan is a Danganronpa and Digimon Fanfic written by Supreme_king_Nero.

This story contains examples of:

  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul:
    • Hajime meets and befriends all of Class 77-B (except Nagito) and eventually joins them.
    • Hajime and Ibuki start a harem that involves Mikan, Chiaki, Akane, Mahiru, Natsumi, and Sonia, who all like Hajime.
    • Makoto meets Seiko and befriends her, as well as starts a romance.
    • Mahiru is no longer willing to be friends with Sato or Saionji until they fix their behaviors. She also is on better terms with Natsumi, if only for Hajime's sake.
    • Chisa is a friendly, proactive adult to both Hajime and Makoto.
  • Adaptational Badass: Everyone with a Digimon.
  • Adaptational Early Appearance:
    • Makoto and Komaru Naegi appear during the Class 77 finals rather than Makoto being introduced the year after and Komaru way later.
    • While not directly, Sayaka is also seen doing one of her shows by the siblings.
    • Kyouko appears at the end of Chapter 16, which takes place not long after Class 77's finals.
  • Adaptational Jerkass: Nagito wasn't the most moral person, but seeing a talentless nobody "bring down his classmates" and having a Digimon makes him even worse.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: It's easier to write a list of who isn't one.
    • Gender Inverted with Kyosuke and Makoto with any guys who hit on Chisa.
  • Clueless Chick-Magnet:
    • Played straight and then subverted with Hajime. At first, he was fully clueless, but he eventually becomes fully aware of the girls' feelings for him and his own feelings after Ibuki practically confesses to him.
    • Justified with Makoto in the "clueless" part. The only girls currently interested in him romantically are Seiko and Sayaka, the former having only just met him while the latter is unable to interact with him due to her being an idol. Though he does miss that the reason he receives merch of Sayaka's idol group (or rather her merch) is that she sent it to him. Meanwhile, Chisa finds him adorable and Kyouko immediately develops an interest. Then Chisa decides to make her attraction more blatant... which results in their relationship being strained.
  • Color-Coded for Your Convenience: Each Digivice revealed is in a color that reflects either the owner or the Digimon connected to it:
    • Red: Makoto Naegi (described as crimson), Ibuki Mioda.
    • Orange: Hajime Hinata, Seiko Kimura, Sonia Nevermind (described as light orange).
    • Yellow: Peko Pekoyama (described as gold), Nekomaru Nidai, Kyouko Kirigiri.
    • Green: Mahiru Koizumi
    • Blue: Natsumi Kuzuryu, Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu (described as light blue), Gundham Tanaka (described as icy blue), Mukuro Ikusaba (described as dark blue).
    • Purple: Mikan Tsumiki, Akane Owari.
    • Pink: Chiaki Nanami.
    • Black: Nagito Komaeda.
    • White: Komaru Naegi.
    • Junko Enoshima's Digivice is black and white like Monokuma.
  • Fantastic Racism: While technically not racist, Nagito, due to his odd obsession with hope and despair, has a strong dislike towards talentless people, especially Hajime.
  • Point of Divergence:
    • Natsumi ends up surviving thanks to Hajime.
    • Due to the above, Hajime ends up joining the main course and becomes the "Ultimate Reformed Delinquent". As such, he doesn't participate in the "Kamukura Project" and becomes Izuru Kamukura.
    • As Natsumi survives, the reasons for Nagito attempting to get the Practical Exams canceled change from wishing to give his mourning classmates a break to trying to get Hajime expelled.
    • Seiko manages to realize that Nagito took the reanimator for Andoh instead of the laxatives and manages to switch them back.
    • Thanks to Hajime joining Class 77-B and helping them during their exams, he (along with Soda) find the bombs lined in the rafters while adjusting the lighting for Mitarai and disable them, drastically reducing the damage caused by the fire.
    • The above two prevent Seiko, Ruruka, and Sonosuke from being expelled due to the incident. Instead, Nagito is the one who gets expelled.
    • Chisa still remains Class 77-B's homeroom teacher.
  • Polyamory: As in the author's other works, Hajime and Makoto will both be getting harems.
    • For Hajime: Ibuki, Mikan, Akane, Sonia, Mahiru, Natsumi, and Chiaki.
    • For Makoto: Seiko, Sayaka, Chisa, Kyouko, Asahina, and Mukuro.
  • Shout-Out:
    • Hajime comments on how he's a regular Izuku Midoriya, referencing how in all of Nero's stories, Izuku is a harem master.
    • Hajime unlocks a "Box Weapon" feature in his Digivice after gaining gloves made from Chrome Digizoid while Makoto's Digi-Soul is called a Hyper Dying by the author, both of which are taken from Reborn! (2004).
    • As he was dying, Deputymon X quotes Liquid Ocelot to Komaru and BaoHuckmon:
      "You're… pretty good."
    • When she finally confesses to Hajime in Chapter 23, Chiaki says "I really, really, really, really, really love you!"
    • Some of the usernames in Makoto's group chat include "The One Who Knocks" for Seiko, "Private Doughnut" for Hina, and "Solid Snake" for Mukuro.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Natsumi Kuzuryu lives thanks to Hajime coming to save her.
  • A Taste of Their Own Medicine: Unintentionally, Nagito's plan was foiled by Makoto's luck.
  • The Multiverse: "My Driver Academia" is a show in this universe. Also, a new show called "He's a Demon" is clearly a reference to "He's a Hero".
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Hajime gives one to Mahiru about how she enables her friends' terrible treatment of others.
Hajime: I don't think that you're a bad person, Koizumi. And I don't believe what Kuzuryu says about you. But you seriously need to take a long, hard look at yourself. Think for once about the consequences of your words and actions. All it takes for evil to prosper is for a good person to sit aside and do nothing. And you? You're that good person, Koizumi.
  • Wham Episode:
    • Chapter 16: Makoto is attacked by a Digimon without a Tamer and is saved by Kyouko.
    • Chapter 18: Makoto is attacked by another rouge Digimon and, due to losing his Digivice, calls Chisa for help, which nearly results in her dying. Makoto, however, unlocks Digi-Soul which lets Guilmon Digivolve and defeat the rouge Digimon. Due to the rush from nearly dying, Chisa offers Makoto to spend the night with her, and she... takes his innocence.
    • Chapter 19: Makoto and Chisa have a fallout due to their Glad-to-Be-Alive Sex during the previous chapter. And Junko makes her first appearance at the end of the chapter with her own Digivice.
    • Chapter 24: While investigating odd happenings at Cosmo World, Makoto and Kyouko are attacked by a MetalPhantomon, who forces Kyouko to experience Makoto's nightmare (learning about what happened between him and Chisa), while the Digital Hazard on Guilmon activates, which also results in the hazard mark appearing in Makoto's eyes. This leads to Kyouko learning about Makoto's desire to make up with Chisa and make her, Kyouko, Hina, and Seiko happy, with Kyouko and Makoto becoming an Official Couple.
