Darkness and Light is an Alternate Universe Kingdom Hearts fanfiction that is hosted on both Fanfiction.net and kingdomheartsfanon.wikia.com

It chronicles the events around three friends from a small isolated world: Yami, Hikari, and Tamashii as they are thrown into the chaos that resulted from the Darkness engulfing most of the Realm of Light.
This fanfic has examples off:
- Action Girl: Tamashii set this for herself when she fights and almost kills yami. Hikari becomes this from the 2nd story arc on.
- Alien Blood: Several characters have black colored blood. It is actually Darkness in physical form that exists alongside regular blood in the bloodstream.
- The Corruption: Ulmia. After contaminating herself with tainted Black Blood she is slowly driven insane, causing her to develop a split personality which freely uses her Dark Powers instead of holding them back.
- Doomed Hometown: While it is still perfectly intact and not destroyed in anyways Yami, Hikari, and Tamashii's homeworld was consummed by the Darkness.
- The Empire: The Dark Empire.
- Faux Action Girl: Hikari in the 1st story arc.
- The Heartless: Kingdom Hearts. Yes.
- Holy Hand Grenade: Hikari relies soley on Light based attacks and powers in combat. Most of the Resistance in general also has at least one powerful Light based attack. Except Yami during the second story arc.
- Katanas Are Just Better: Ulmia. Again. And Sephiroth. Subverted somewhat because Ulmia's is made out of unbreakable steal.
- La Résistance: The Resistance of course. Their main goal is to oust the Dark Empire. Starting in the 4th story arc they also set their sights on the PK ECDB
- Older Than They Look: Even in her late 50's going on 60 (during the 4th and 5th story arcs) and now has a grandchild, Ulmia STILL looks like she is in her 20s.
- Rebel Leader: Leon and Hikari.
- The Soulless: Tamashii is a Nobody and thus lacks a Heart and cannot feel emotions. As a result she gains some rather homicidal tendencies and tries to kill her best friend.
- Start of Darkness: Yami, though he didn't have a choice. Blaid orcastrated the descruction of the Keyblade Order of Light when he felt they betrayed him, and Ulmia was driven insane after accidentally contaminating herself with tained Black Blood.
- Super-Strength: While she was already strong as a normal human, after Tamashii becomes a Nobody she gains enough physical strenght to offhandedly swat a Heartless into a building and cause it to COLLAPSE.
