Bird-Worm is a crossover story between The Owl House and Worm, in which, after the climax of the latter, Taylor is dumped by Contessa not on another Earth, but the Boiling Isles, some time before canon starts, right where Eda and King find her.

This fan fiction contains examples of:

  • And I Must Scream: Taylor's consciousness is initially apparently trapped in the in-between realm, only able to briefly catch glimpses of life in the Owl House as she fights with the aid of her passenger to break free.
  • Arbitrary Skepticism: Despite everything that she's seen in her parahuman career, and how the whole situation she's been in since she ended up on the Isles shows that something different is going on, Taylor quickly falls back on the Clark's Third Law line on Eda's magic.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Taylor manages to intervene against the Owl Beast using her powers to save Luz and King.
  • Creepy Good: While her morality from her own series is somewhat... complicated, she's pretty nice in this fic, comforting and helping Luz, grateful for the help she receives, and being as friendly as possible in her moments when she's awake and lucid. She still has a gaze that other points of view note seems predatory and she seems unusually poised. The bullet wounds in the head just add to her eerie appearance, and being able to control people's minds leads to some strained tensions. While she was doing this, she communicated to Luz using Luz's mouth to speak.
  • Handicapped Badass: Taylor is bedridden and only briefly conscious and aware. When she is awake, moving is really hard thanks to disused muscles. She is still capable of mind control and is every bit the Determinator she was in her own story.
  • In Spite of a Nail: The events of the canon first episode happen effectively unchanged until the end, as Hooty has the foresight to hide Taylor away when he sees someone unfamiliar coming.
  • Power Incontinence: Taylor has a hard time using her ability to control people. When she does manage to use it, it's still an automatic effect on anyone within range, regardless of whether she wants to control them.
  • 'Tis Only a Bullet in the Brain: This taking place after Golden Morning, Taylor falls into the Boiling Isles with two bullets through her head, yet is getting better. Slowly. This can be justified given that the person who shot her in her own story is the sort of person who might just be able to do that on purpose.
  • Trauma Button: Luz seeing Taylor lying in the Owl House, all but comatose, draws up memories about her father in the hospital before his death. Likewise, Taylor finding out about Amity turning on Willow and bullying Luz reminds her of her own experience with Emma.
  • Wrong Context Magic: Taylor initially thinks that the things she manages to see through her haze are a result of the shards like she's used to, though much as she tries to deny that magic exists, it's abundantly apparent that something else is going on.
